Plumpton Abandoned

someone on here said it was raceable yesterday and temps have been above freezing since yesterday morning

-1 overnight.

hasn't been below zero at the track since 11am on Sunday, per the Met Office. 

6 degrees on Sunday afternoon, 6 degrees on Monday afternoon, rising to 9 degrees this afternoon.

Surprised at that decision..sunny here in Surrey with no frost at all yesterday morning and this morning

I'm amazed - no frost where I am 20 miles East and lovely and sunny - been for a five mile cycle ride - very pleasant conditions.

Well they made the decision but still surprised as it a sunny day down here in Sussex no wind no frost temp above 10c

yeh unlike your garden  a racecourse has 50 staff looking after the course 24/7 or so  COC keep telling us they do

doubt kenneth has invested too heavily in frost covers. 

i'd be taking them back if the gaffs still frozen at sunny and 10 degrees for 3 days.

Strange decision. I live close to the track. It's 8 degrees and has been since mid morning.

If there were one or two frozen patches they'd have long since disappeared.

Clerk of Course appears to have messed up twice recently - first by being overly optimistic ahead of the track's big Sussex National meeting (abandoned at last minute) and second by being unduly pessimistic at this morning's 8am inspection. Wouldn't have happened in Mark Cornford's day.

11 degrees now in Surrey and was a lovely pleasant morning so surely too early a decision..if it had bad patches they need to change their groundsmen.
