you are probably right tiger had the heating on 24/7 , just thinking back to when I was a nipper used ton go night fishing in weather as bad or worse than this back in the 1960s and 70s just a camp bed a thin sleeping bag and pub garden parasol with polythene sheeting pegged around it ,would often cast out in the night and hear a clanking instead of a splash where the water had frozen over . musta been crazy

We used to get snow from November right through to February. Only get it in short phases now and then rain washes it away. Tonight -20c forecast is a rarity now. Definitely a lot milder here now than last century Sparrow.

does anyone remember the winter of 1962 ,as a nipper walking to school it seemed at the time the walls of frozen snow were about 6 ft high , looking on those youtube vids they were higher , we had to use an outside khazi ,on a freezing night night you didnt linger in there ! grimm!

Worked a night shift in Govan about 10yrs ago it was that cold the River Clyde had frozen over, went back home to my flat and heard a strange hissing noise, the phecking cold had actually burst a water pipe in the kitchen. HappyDays.

Bridgewater canal that has just burst its banks - Used to ride on the ice to school in Lymm , just got to be a bit of a pain getting out for the bridges where it wasnt so thick .
