Well, you never know but P Sweeney who i've never heard of and has only a few horses could be trying to have a touch with Ransom in the 5.00 and Roderick in the 6.30 both hinted at a return to form lto and both look feasibly well h'capped , both have done the training route journey from Hogan- Byrne-Hogan- Mcguigan-Sweeney and a few others as h'cap marks have continued to fall. Ransom from 95 2 years ago to 72 today and Roderick from 91 2 years ago to 47 today. Both have shown some form in between times and had the obligitatory 3 runs for Sweeney.
Ransom looks particularly interesting btn just 3 lengths lto but 6lbs better off with 2nd fav Shoot to Kill after being as usual slowly away in a field full of previous winners this season.
Roderick ran over too far a distance lto but won over 1m at Killarney at 20/1 and ran a close 2nd at 50/1 over 7fs here in March 24 in a claimer rated 69 then, in that race they were all rated far too high bar Cherry Pink, but still Rod has dropped another 22lbs since then.
They are both drifting now after some early support but nobody seems at all interested in Ransom,” (Haven’t paid the Ransom George)”, but could still run into 1st 4. I would expect the plodding Roderick to be running on and will be disappointed if can’t get into 1st 4 in this race. Another interesting horse in this race is Royal Tribute whose price can only be attributed to the young jockey Ruby Kincaid having just his 3rd ride, as the horse should be nearer the top of market than bottom, let’s hope he’s OK Kincaid.
Roderick who found late support into 7/1 couldn't quite get there but held on for 2nd, pity Ransom couldn't get up for 4th.
"Never mind George, we'll get them next time."

I'm hoping the Ransom has been paid today as his last 2 runs haven't been too bad over 7fs and last run over 1m when btn just over 3 lengths, must have lost 10 lengths at the start. Go back to Jan/Feb last year, 2 3rds and a victory over 1m from higher ratings 76, 82 and 83, from 70 tonight from the 1 draw, if doesn't lose lots of ground at start again has an EW 1st 4 chance imo.

Ransom paid last night at 20/1 to give Sweeney a blag and 1st winner dropped to 64, Roderick was unlucky to just get touched off by Harry the Rogue at 20/1 lto who was a head 2nd from a stone higher in the week.
