I have been betting on horses well over 50 years, racing and betting have changed so much in that time I would not like to guess what the future will look like. I just enjoy the bits I like and try not to get involved in anything else, be lucky.

Hereford tomorrow still very doubtful. I don't think that I will be having a bet today. Ayr looks dire stuff while Wolves has just one restricted fillies maiden and 7 handicaps. Taunton should be OK on Wednesday but Newbury is vulnerable to either waterlogging or frost.

There seemed to be decent crowds (only from TV) between Xmas and New Year Ronnie but this was always going to be a very quiet week with the weather and the back to work/bills to pay reality setting in. Even quite a few football matches off. Not quite back to the 1980s when most sport was off for 6 weeks.
