I learnt in the early 1950s to remember the DID Ethos regarding dogs- Dogs Is Dangerous. I've seen enough in my time to only do dogs for minimal amounts for small interest.

With the hare on the outside in the UK, I've often wondered how much leading dogs are ever manipulated (deliberately or accidentally) into running wide on the final bend by the pace of the hare. Who keeps track on the speed and distance of the hare through the race?

Australian dogs are far straighter than ours imho , prize money much better. They start from a chute meaning less bumping at the first bend,

The results from the meetings available in shop today, 31 of 44 races won by the first 2 in the markets

The hare to the naked eye always looks closer to the dogs in Australia, haven't a clue what the rules, if there is any regarding a regulated hare to dog distance

Hare stops here most days of the week, I was on a trap 6 at a nice price yesterday which was clear and the hare stopped.

Aus dogs *seem* to have more races voided because the dogs caught the "lure", but no idea if that's an integrity issue or just because of the different setup.

Not a sport I have ever bet on other than as a backdrop to a works/lads night out.

I wonder if as a test say a dog has a tissue of 2-1 someone put up a lay at 13-8 on betfair for £500 an hour before the race then would it be matched and ALWAYS win.
