I know that's not the exact analogy, but you get the drift

It's not about the horse racing. It's all about how much money they can squeeze from the paying public. Some of those race meetings today will be charging a fortune on gate admission and then the price for food & drink when they get the paying public in.

new abacus required stu..theres 11.

By:
yeh, I was meaning the ones that ended mid-afternoon
11 in total |
|
By:
Indeed Kriskin - I used to go to boxing day at Wetherby in the past. Because it's a traditional thing people keep paying for these meetings.
|
|
By:
It's not really any different from most sports events. I was at the rugby the other week and it was £21 for 2 cans of magners and a can of Guinness, food was also extortionate.same as golf, football, concerts, festivals.
Not saying it's right but racing imo isn't the worse. |

As a racing gambler, the biggest question is how to approach a day like today...
|
|
By:
Far too much a day like this for me with just too many distractions. I shall probably only bother with Wolverhampton and maybe a couple of hurdle races.
|
|
By:
If not careful you try to bite off too much on day like today yep.

That was plenty enough, for me anyway. |

By:
It’s the first Boxing Day I haven’t had a horse bet. Watching the races and results I’m glad I didn’t.

Bournemouth playing Palace on Amazon now.
0-0 after 51 minutes. I'd be happy with a point t.b.h. COYP. |
|
By:
A clean sheet and a point away to a bang in form Bournemouth side is not to be sniffed at. Well done the Eagles.

Mad that really, at least in terms of us bothering to bet here - noticed a few of the markets were extremely thin today, which is not surprising given competition for possible races to be focusing on at any point! |
