I had a lucky escape. Sunday night and Monday night I bet there would no 9 darter in each of the evening sessions at 1/20. They cut it last night to 1/45

I looked at tonight's line up and the only 2 I'd heard of were Aspinall and Kist(from BDO!) so watched the football! The standards's definitely improved MASSIVELY, well bet bb.

That’s where I remember Kist from too. Anderson, MVG and RVB were all over there first too. That was a good tournament on the BBC each year. Shame it went t1ts up, but the standard was very poor at the end.

There was a nervy leg in the match yesterday afternoon featuring the tranny player, the other player won the leg in 33 darts in true BDO style.

Shame it went t1ts up, but the standard was very poor at the end. the bdo was the stronger event for many, many years bar Taylor....PDC was like Champions Tour Golf for a long time.....Obviously changed when everyone jumped ship year after year. the averages at the bdo event were better than the pdc event for years... |

I think the Lakeside atmosphere was better than the Circus Tavern. The Worlds is superb here at the Ally Pally though. It’s the darting event of the year by a long way.
Wasn’t it Phil Taylor who pretty much formed the PDC as breakaway league away from the BDO. Agree though, Aberdonia. There was some great times for the BDO. Being on the BBC too everyone could watch it. |

Was going to post on this earlier, well done binb bagged.
Was going to say the comparison with high street and on here is hs won't be taking bets on no 9 drt fin, so not really a sign of value imo. Tother thing is way venue is set up, temp on stage, humidity ect, even board type. Was also going to say the reason it's a good bet is the chaser in a match, once the pressure is off has a good chance, not saying the top gins can't do it under pressure in a big match just an observation,as in this case the nine darter lost match. Used to be a saying in pub darts about 180, s not winning games, ie the following darts being piss poor and lak of finish. But well done and good to see someone from crowd getting a lift and a prostate cancer all getting 60k. One last ting,one for the darts players, how many combinations is thar for a nine darter and has anyone ever done a non 180 180 141 9d finish on TV? Game has come on a bit since Leighton Reece won in late 70,s, first darts I ever picked up and threw were hand wooden stems and feather flights, think Leighton made his own stems and flights. WD winners but not a bet I cood place but a winners a winner,WD. |

It said on the telly this morning there was around 3400 different permutations for a nine darter. I’d like to see 60-57-50 for three consecutive legs!

180-177-144 is fairly common, BNB. Going down for the treble 19 on the sixth dart means they can stay on treble 20 for the seventh and eighth.

another 9 darter on here here is 1.5 ish too short for me but looking through the firms littler is 22/1 in his next game ,the kid is fearless and has the ar$ehole to hold his nerve could be worth a tenner also Gary Anderson has the exp and bottle and 28/1 also could be worth a tenner in his next game ,don't know if other firms are bigger been on hills cant find any betting on 9 darters ,others would know more than me at darts but I'll risk a score for an interest .

Someone said he was 7s to one at any time. Seems the safer bet to me. He could play nine legs in his next match making the chance far more unlikely.

I very smaller version of the hole in one gang,who saw an opportunity,when back in the day.bookies offered 66/1 for a hole in one in major golf tournaments,but unbeknown to most people,it happened quite a lot.
So they hit the shops,betting an 66/1 shot which was in effect an even money shot. I don’t know the full story of this,but a gang used to put small bets on in shops ,around the country,knowing they had a good chance at 66/1 |

There’s a lot more games than there used to be, Swifty. I couldn’t tell you how long it’s been like this but it’s been a good while now. Winning a first round game is like winning a cup final for some of the overseas qualifiers. The Asian lad yesterday being a prime example. Played well and beat a half decent player on merit.

the HOLE IN ONE BET ,was basicaly a bookmaker Rick in offering the odds for a named player to score a hole in one as opposed to getting 150 players x 2 rounds and 70 ish players getting 4 rounds,with some courses having 4 par 3,s ,you were getting roughly 1,700 chances at the best players in the world getting A HOLE IN ONE,they had it right off for a while

Was ex bookies, a shop manager and a ex track layer.
They visited every indy they could find and played singles, doubles, trebles and accas on five events I think. Prices varied but were often on 5/1 each event sometimes bigger, some books didn't play multi but gave silly prices on a single. The biggest takeaway was how the racing press quickly dubbed them a gang,suggesting criminal element,books been chalking up false prices for years lol. Headlines at time did not reflect the bets struck. Think I read the true price was 6/4 ish and they chose events where it was nearer 1/1. Most payed up but backers were going to object to licences, book sounds like a good read One done a runner owing 25k, prob a lot of munee in early 90s. Diff time altogether and not sure it bears much relevance to modern day darts, named player bets are lay material imvho and not what this type of bet is about. |
