THE LITTLER
7,s with slybet to do it |
By:
Littler, Humphries, Smith and Anderson would be the most likely to do so imo. Could throw Price in on past form too as I have Anderson really.
The two Luke’s might be a better stab at a couple singles maybe. |

8/13 against 4/9 looks good.
But has anyone gone through, say, the last 10 World Chmapionship tournaments and worked out how many matches against how many 9-darters? I presume the bookies will have done so and come up with 4/9..hence proving 8/13 is value? |
By:
Only if the bookies forgot to price in their overround.
By:
You can't look to far back as the standard now is markedly different. Paul Lims one in !990 wasn't repeated for 19 years and yet in the 2022 World Championships there was 3.
By:
what's happened in the past has no effect on what might happen today
the way I look at it,even if someone gets the 1st 8 darts right, imo they,d still be odds on to miss the last double ,so your really betting on enough players to get the 1st 8 darts right to make the last double an odds against chance, its similar bet to golfs hole in one bet |
By:
not a darts backer but do like to watch the game and as op says the standard looks much higher now .
By:
Agree with 1sttp in that forget about what's happened in the past and bet accordingly whether or not you think it will happen , personally i've no clue whether one or even more will land or not , history has no respect for the future and delving into stats you'll end up asking more questions than getting any answers.
Those odds off my radar for any event and especially when a centimetre will almost certainly decide your fate either way. Good luck to anyone involved ![]() |
By:
You have to look at some historical data to ascertain the likelihood of it happening. If it had never happened before then you wouldn't be taking 8/13.
By:
Hope it lands for you bin bagged , no outright bet so will give me something to look out for

By:
it happening isn't really the deciding factor ,surely the deciding factor is how many have the 1st 8 darts right and missed out on the last dart ,in deciding if its good value
By:
does anyone no the usual/average price of a 147 in snooker world championship, would it be odds on,or odds against ?

Cheers. Slightly unusual betting patterns in a the first match tomorrow. For a match of this calibre there's been quite a lot of money matched (27k compared with 4k 2k and 1k in the other afternoon matches) Hurrell backed into 4/7 from evens.

By:
Given the number of legs played at the world champs, think this bet is a good and informed one...Best of luck.

A number of years ago, there was a thriving darts forum, a great golf one too, all dead now....darts was great banter when matches were in play and one year everyone was on Peter Wright at big odds....Cant remember the year but he lost in the final.

I just read that pundit and ex player Wayne Mardles wife Donna passed away a couple of days ago aged just 52 years old after a short illness.

There will be a few getting the first eight darts in. There will even be games where both players are on for it after six darts each. That last dart is always the hardest, even though it’s the biggest target they’ve aimed for in the sequence. Hope one lands, if I had to pick I’d say it would. Just need to avoid the surge of adrenaline! Good luck, Bin Bagged.

This first match this afternoon, James Hurrell v Jim Long, I have an odds checker screen shot and on the day of the draw Hurrell was 2.2 with Bet Victor and Boyles, Evens with B365. (it wasnt an error on oddschecker as i checked the individual sites) Hurrell is now 1.59 on Betfair with plenty matched for a game like this. If this wasn't the World Championships i'd think this was a bent game.
