Has anyone noticed the huge amount of odds on favourites being pulled up and running poorly when Nico is riding.
When James Bowen is onboard (a far superior jockey) it doesn't happen.

Something dodgy going as this is a trend now for at least the last two seasons. I don't trust them anymore.

Look whats going on in the 1.15.

Hendo FAV 3.5 out to 7.6, 2nd string ridden by Bowen been backed from 34.0 into 20.0 and there was money up all night for it.

As Mick Fitzgerald said on TV last weekend: "Nico is a 100% team player".

Henderson horses are often stupid short prices. Even with the weight concession there was nothing between those four horses to justify That's Nice price. Nowadays I tend to avoid his short priced horses especially when the race looks hot, I just don't trust him and how shtye did that end up running??

Bowen much better. Nico just goes really wide and presses the lead on the ones that have to win.

if hendo/db combo ran 50 even money shots at least 25 would get beat. same as any other trainer/jockey combo. but hendo/db do have that many even money chances each season, so everyone remembers their whopping number of 25+ losers

I'm sure your right. Same with Skelton, the bookies are often very short on both trainers favs. As foyles said just need to look for value elsewhere.

Isn't it hilarious how some of the pathetic keyboard warriors take any opportunity to abuse posters who have a different opinion to them. What is wrong with just saying 'I disagree because...'... or even just 'you're completely wrong because...'.
Personal abuse just shows the nasty bullying nature of some peoples weak sad character.
For the record I do not rate various jockeys and trainers. You're welcome to disagree.

I would trust Nico to point your truck in a straight line better than you could any  perceived point and shoot horse tbh Quixall, the easiest thing I ever did was passing my HGV 111 at 17 and then pointing and shooting. Much easier than riding my hunters 30 miles from where you are!!
Report sageform December 13, 2024 6:59 PM GMT
He may not be the best ever jockey but when one short priced ride finishes last and then the next one wins like the best novice chaser in GB, you have to question what is going on in the yard, not the quality of the rider. Mind you I could not for the life of me see how Thats Life was evens when the RPRatings were more or less the same for all 4 runners.

3.45pm Cheltenham - Finding a way to lose. I'm sure someone on here knows how to say that in Latin because that should be on Nico's DB's posh family crest. He was cruising around on Joyeuse but in the straight allows himself to get boxed in and the winner had got first run on him and the rest as usual is history. I do not understand how Henderson can go from having a stable jockey as brilliant as Barry G to Nico. The only explanation is that Nico is his posh boy mate.
p.s someone below said he looks like an amateur jock riding. Thats maybe too kind.
Report 1st time poster December 14, 2024 4:23 PM GMT
everything was cruising round including the ambulance with its handbrake on and the 66,s shot, hence the winner sprinting away on the snaff, and the fav finishing no further in front of the other 10 than he had been all the way round
Report Newmarket-spurs December 14, 2024 4:45 PM GMT
1st time poster ..... I agree but Nico always finds a way to lose. He is an amateur quality jock riding for a big time stable. Joyeuse was in a good position at the turn so why with a ton of horse under him didn't he make a move then? Nico has no tactical nous nor can he recognise when the pace is too slow or too fast. One of the worst jocks I've ever seen at the elite level.
A question to anyone on here who rates him. If Henderson retired tomorrow would another big stable pick Nico up? Not a chance. He would have to retire as well.
Report 1st time poster December 14, 2024 5:05 PM GMT
average jocks would rather  give themselves brownie points for been last off the bridle rather than attempting a race winning move which might result in them losing the race,if their last of bridle and lose they hide behind/blame the horse, lack of pace,no run etc,etc
