A very good ride by de Boinville. He was certainly riding to win for Mrs Bradstock. An emotional one for all concerned.

A shocker by Deutsch on Venetia's, how anyone could get checked and find so much trouble in a 3m4f chase round there beggers belief, thick idiot. Should definitely have been placed.

Lay it at 3/1 on course and bet it back at 4/1 on the machine.
Take 'em all day long.

Doorman, I generally like Charlie Deutsch but agree that today wasn't one of his best rides
Not sure he would have won however ridden but couldn't seem to make his mind up whether to try and join the front runner or sit back a bit... Also, take the outer line or go up the inner... But pocket talking so maybe biased

Following the race, Jordan Nailor reported that TOP OF THE BILL (IRE), which was pulled up, hung badly left-handed.
Strange that it drifted in the betting before the off.
Report CagliariG December 7, 2024 8:35 PM GMT
So ELL are you saying that someone knew beforehand it would hang left? Can't argue that it did because the jockey was pulling the right rein all the way between fences.
Report Ell December 7, 2024 9:00 PM GMT
It certainly jumped left in the race but is that a good reason to pull the horse up ?.
It probably got in a bit close at a couple of early jumps but no bad mistakes.
I would suggest that they knew it wasn't winning today and were just chucking a poor excuse at the stewards.

I backed it ELL ew so watched closely, if you watch a replay you will see his his head continually turning to the side and the rider pulling on the opposite rein. Seemed to be going fine most of the way and then suddenly made noticeable mistakes although never looked right earlier.

Doubt if the connections knew the horse was not right they would have run?
Report Ell December 7, 2024 9:40 PM GMT
As you say, you knew something was wrong earlier on. The in running betting reflected that as well.
Doesn't explain the drift from 11-17 in a matter of minutes before the off.
