He is in that position, no different to Townend. Not in ability but supported by a top yard that's not interested in him slogging around the country for egg and spoon races.

But he's at that meeting anyway so it's not as if it's a slog to go to ride it. If he's not gonna bother then why look for any outside rides?
That's why he's riding it, as he's already there. Not an egg and spoon race though, and would be mad to turn down opportunity for these connections. He's in a position to cherry pick his rides. I doubt he would ever claim to be at the riding level of Walsh, but he is in a similar position of having the luxury of being selective with rides.

No. But it's not long ago people on here were saying he was thectop jockey riding. As hilarious now as it was then.
