Another race that's going to be shadow of what it used to be. If the Irish aren't bothered may as well get rid of it.
By:
You been on the happy pills dd?
Hewick, Corbetts Cross, Envoi Allen etc etc all still in. |
By:
No just realistic.
By:
Corbetts is coming all being well. 11/2 not a bad price whatever turns up now.
By:
Mr Mullins's got the hump. The bookies have already won loads with Il Est Francais and Gaelic Warrior both no show.
By:
I do find it surprising that he has absolutely no interest in our Great Race.
![]() |
By:
Has he ever had much of an interest? As for the Irish ignoring it they still have more than 1/3 of entries Mr Deaf and Dumb!!
FFS DD would depress a druggy high on methamphetamine or in his case Ketamine!! |
By:
Indeed. Not even Spillane's Tower. I can understand Fact To File and Galopin Des Champ not nominated.
By:
Will be surely one of the worst KG's ever run regardless who wins it now
Some very average and past their best performers left in the race. |
By:
Not enough decent horses for the UK to have the Betfair Chase and the King George, scrap the BC
By:
Btw Acey, I think it is more significant and indicates that he has no designs on winning the trainers title again, tbf had no chance anyway so any layers laying are on a good thing?
By:
I remember listening to Mangan last season talking about Spillane's Tower and he really wasn't keen on travelling his horse with no interest even in Cheltenham last year.
By:
If Fastorslow is supplemented Wins by half the track imho.

By:
Not what used to be tbf
By:
Acer.
Factors low is going to be supplement. Ronnie. |

Looking at that line up, Hewick must have a good chance of repeating
By:
You sure Ronnie?
By:
He sent one to England today did something unusual happen?
By:
Cant be any worse than the Henesssy or whatever its called now, awful looking race.
By:
Acey.
YES. Ronnie. |
By:
How are you so sure Ronnie?
Hoping he is as I am on at 12-1 |
By:
Great News i think he is a worthy favourite.
By:
Fast or Slow is a player in this mediocre field.
By:
If he has got any sense the Trainer will come to Kempton and avoid what looks to be a White Hot Savills Chase at Leopardstown.
By:
Acey.
Take my word he will run at Kempton. Have a good day. Ronnie. |
By:
Thank's Ronnie..Regards.
By:
Grey Dawning who Skelteon said wont run for a very long time after his efforts at Haydock is now a likely runner he says.

Mullins has been reported that Fact To File could be supplemented after scratching all his entries just a couple of days ago. Another bookie-talk from the chief of Closutton stable.
By:
The last thing Mullins wants is for his beloved Gallopin Des Champs to get beaten again by Fact To File before Cheltenham so i think there is a fair chance he will go to Kempton.

Embarrassment of riches
Imo horses going be campaigned over the wrong trips I don’t get as owner why want your super star Second fiddle it others in same yard Take Ii etait temps cry for step up got it look what it did Surly it can’t go bzck 2 miles Don’t know how handles soo many stars under one roof Sound like toys ur as |
By:
Shame, Gaelic Warrior made the market. Doesn't stay 3 m in a horsebox.
Fact to File might be supplemented- looks perfect for him. |
By:
"2nd fiddle in the same yard"
Mr Wylie knew it to his cost. His horses were always 2nd fiddle to Mr Ricci eg Shaneshill, sacrificed against Douvan in The Supreme when he'd have won The Ballymore. And many others I did not care to name. It still hurts backing them antepost. |
By:
All the good horses under one roof or with the same trainer. I question this allegiance even as a sport(more so as a business).
There could be a natural disaster eg a proliferation of equine fever or an earthquake or an accident or incident eg fire or sinkhole. |
By:
It is bad Impossible, but that "Grade 2" at Punchestown on Saturday was even worse - three runners, all with the same trainer (Elliot) and owner (Gigginstown). Farcical. And Mullins is moaning about a few races being taken out of the program.
By:
In the old days the proper super rich eg Abdullah, Maktoums, Aga Khan, Wilderstein, Hamdan, Sheikh Mo, etc they did not have all or most of their horses with the same stable or trainer. Now, the NH Class B rich eg Ricci, O'Leary, JP, etc, do have most of their horses with one trainer esp in Ireland.
I think this is more than just the love of the sport, but to network (business), to socialise (rub shoulders), and most of all fomo - the fear of missing out, I think. |
