Bit odd isn't it, surely they have the facilities at 7 barrows to know if the horse has still got the gears or not. Racecourse gallop is more about preparing for a race.

A public gallop seems like it was the pre cursor to retirement, Nicky does speak in riddles....

Henderson is full of it and his best mate over rated stable jockey will probably pull it up whilst its still on the bridle for some nonsense excuse.

The bookies win again courtesy of Hendo. I hope Hendo would just retire the beast for the horse's sake, and to avoid any further loyalty money going into the bookies' satchels.

Shame he has gone lame as he was an absolute freek of a horse.

I'm no Hendo fan. He'd have done so much more with the horse eg compete in Ireland when he was sound. Now, a probable sad ending for the horse. I think it's difficult to see the horse ever competing in a serious Gp 1 race ever again.

Unfortunately he never got a proper campaign and won't live long in the memory, more of a horse that hardly ever run and the trainer was annoying.

CH will go down as one of the best, if not the best hurdlers ever.

i doubt any horse from any era would live with the horse at his best...

One thing i will say about Henderson for all his guff, he does go over to Ireland , has done for years.

Henderson took his very good 3 miler staying hurdler over to Ireland...cant remember his name currently, but i had a  very decent bet on it, ran a stinker and was confirmed as lame afterwards.

The horse was a favourite of mine, it beat a Neville Callaghan horse who had won a few, at chepstow by half the track as a novice, when i again had a meaty bet on it...haha..i like to remember winning bets more than losing one's

And no a grey hair in sight.

CH won't go down as the best ever, horses need a bit of catalogue of races and this hasn't hardly ran. More to a what if

Pity chemical wouldn't retire, was a favourite trainer of mine 20/30 years ago,but not anymore.

Altior stayed at home; Shishkin stayed at home; Buveur D'Air stayed at home. These are the only ones I can think of recently. I'm fairly certain there were a few others too.

Thats it, i had 800 on it at Chepstow when it won in a hack canter, i had a lot more on in Ireland when it ran no race and was lame.

It was the Punchestown Festival that it ran no race. Did finish 4th but really was never in the hunt. Can remember watching in the bookmakers. It had won the stayers at the festival in its previous race.

Can also remember watching the chepstow win in the bookies, never a seconds worry...haha, i do miss being in the bookies sometimes.

and Davoski was Venetia Wiliams, no idea why i thought it was Neville Calaghan. He did have jumpers off the flat , that were normally decent.

My memory is not a good as i thought..lol...the race he finished lame in was his next outing after that chepstow rout...

Can any of the trainers/ owners detractors explain what they gain by not running CH ? Not a lot they can do if the horse is lame or would you prefer they followed the genius of AOB running Istabraq in the Champion Hurdle when all was obviously not right but bowed to the racing public because of his popularity and a desire to make history That ended well didn't it?

NH has proven more than once he is not the sort of trainer to risk a horse for any of the above reasons, See You Then a prime example of his skill and approach and a fair few since who have come back from serious issues, none would probably have run again never mind win were they given to the BF Forum to train!!

Of course the horse should not run if he is not 100% but do you believe after so many similar episodes over the last 2 years that the horse was 100% a week ago?

Give examples sage, seems he is damned if he informs the public and ditto if he does not?

Henderson now looks a cross between a grand dame of the stage (minus the rouge) and the Rowley Birkin character from the Fast Show.

Someone daft enough to lay Binoculars for the Champion Hurdle at 1000 if i remember correctly , hindsight a wonderful thing   

Successfully transformed from non-runner to winner in the space of less than a month, Binocular (9-1) took the Champion Hurdle under Tony McCoy at the Festival here. Four weeks ago, a muscle problem was said to have been identified which would keep him out of the race but, after the six-year-old schooled well at Nicky Henderson's Lambourn yard last Wednesday, the decision was taken that he would run after all.

Henderson's vet is called Jesus.

Henderson is either crooked or he has become over cautious in his old age. I really don't think he is an elite trainer anymore, he has just got a few loyal elite owners.... It is puzzling why he has an awful jockey like Nico DB as his no.1 who will pull up any horse on a whim and always find a way to lose any race on the best horse.

I think he is letting connections down lightly with the horse. He is the best we have seen imo but was always a bit fragile. I make him odds on to not line up in the Champion Hurdle, the race is at Willie Mullins mercy.

If Sir Gino runs in, and wins the Fighting Fifth the Hendo camp will be all smiles.

One hoss' misfortune could be potentially another's gain. Forego's the novice chasing code and concentrates on the CH route.

I think the competition over the bigger obstacles is more potent than over hurdles eg State Man (disappointing) and Lossiemouth. The rest are much of a muchness. As such, if Sir Gino wins the Fighting Fifth (a very probable runner) impressively he'll be fav for the Champion Hurdle I firmly believe. On the other hand over the bigger obstacles Ballyburn and Fact To File have been impressive so far.

If I was the owner of Constitution Hill I'd consider a change of stable. It could not be any worse than the present scenario.

It's Hendo's molly-coddling and non-activity of CH when CH was sound. Hendo's never heard of "striking when the iron is hot" adage.

I'm a big fan of the winner yesterday but she needs a test at the trip and wants it wet to run at peak performance. Neither is guaranteed, and deep going at the festival is actually pretty infrequent.

mystical power has very good novice form in the book ,getting better race by race last season regally bred and should continue progressing this season .

Mind games with these people as well, Mullins probably happier to have Brighterdaysahead going for the CH so he can win the MH.

Think he did it after he won at Aintree in 23? Since then just won the Christmas hurdle at Kempton?

Was it Buckley that decided to keep him hurdling? Or did he not school that great?

I'm guessing some people in the camp wanted to send him chasing to school him, as he is up there with Istabraq as the best I've seen hurdling performance wise, and personally I would have kept him hurdling as they did.
