Can't have gone well - very weak in the FF and CH markets. The clip on X doesn't show anything untoward.

Constitution Hill 'ready for action' says satisfied Nicky Henderson despite Fighting Fifth drift after Newbury workout
Constitution Hill: winner of the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle at Kempton Constitution Hill: worked at Newbury on Tuesday morning Credit: Mark Cranham Constitution Hill has drifted for the Betmgm Fighting Fifth Hurdle following a racecourse gallop at Newbury, but Nicky Henderson has expressed himself pleased with the workout alongside stablemate Sir Gino. Henderson’s 2023 Champion Hurdle winner was as short as 4-7 for his much anticipated comeback at Newcastle on November 30 at the start of Tuesday morning, but after videos circulated of his workout alongside Sir Gino, a Grade 1-winning juvenile, he was pushed out to as big as 6-4. Henderson said: "It was great and we got the work into him. He's done a lot more today than he did with Jonbon a couple of weeks ago and he needed this gallop. "He's ready for action. That made him work and it's why we're here. People need to remember this horse has had bad luck. There's nothing wrong with him, he hasn't been injured. It's all part and parcel of the game. "He's had a good blow. He'll do a bit of work at the end of this week as he's not had a school yet. He hasn't jumped a hurdle, but I don't think he needs to. It just keeps his eye in." |

Stephen Harris on twitter says it wont run again. He's a serious player, not known for hyperbole.
Vet is in the truck looking at CH (but he'd be doing that as amatter of routine, wouldnt he?) |

Constitution Hill did not impress onlookers in his racecourse gallop at Newbury on Monday morning.
The videos that were put up on X, formerly Twitter, following the gallop showed Constitution Hill being ridden along by Nico de Boinville while Sir Gino galloped effortlessly beside him. |

'Hasn't had a school/jumped a hurdle yet'??? Am I reading that right? Can that be normal?

The only downside to the jumping season upon us , this tedious scenario all over again.

Such a shame for CH. A fantastic horse but his breathing has gone hasn't it?
Gutting watching that gallop. |

Greg Wood's lost his s**t

Maybe Sir Gino is just really good
|
|
By:
Money talks! 13/8 out to 3/1, and 4/7 to 5/2 for Cheltenham and Newcastle respectively. As such, he might not even show up.
Hendo just retire the horse. He's nothing to prove just your mollycoddling has backfired big time when he was unbeatable. And, stop talking for the bookies! |

Here we go again ! More of Henderson’s crap.

The FF is not a race to be backing in AP, and deffo not one from 7b, might, might not, weather, ground then a small field, nop, no thanks.

Sir Geno runs at Kempton on Monday Novice Chase.
|

He wont be going to Kempton if C.Hill is going to miss fighting 5th. He will be going to Newcastle.

We don't know what the weights were in that gallop.

Expanding on plans for the exciting Sir Gino, Henderson confirmed chasing is the plan for his unbeaten Grade One-winning novice hurdler.
He said: “It remains the plan for Sir Gino to go chasing for two reasons. As long as Constitution Hill is on track, which he is, Sir Gino is a very, very good horse. If anything happened to Constitution Hill, Sir Gino would be ready to jump into the Fighting Fifth. “We have schooled Sir Gino over fences and he is extremely good, so we go that route. Bearing in mind, the other clash he could have if he stays hurdling is that Joe Donnelly owns State Man as well, so why not try make one into a chaser and have two runners. Keep up buddy ![]() . |
|
By:
Genius Geoff, so NH will redirect Sir Gino if he wins at Kempton, back to hurdles if CH has a cough IYO?
|
|
By:
Can only but quote Hendos supposed comments, "If anything happened to Constitution Hill, Sir Gino would be ready to jump into the Fighting Fifth" . Not my words.
|
|
By:
Why doesn't Hendo just do what's right by Sir Gino, it should be having a 2nd season over hurdles.
Donnelly has run 2 horses in a race before, so that doesn't come into the equation. Watching the gallop at Newbury again it looks worse than the 1st viewing |
|
By:
I agree why the hell is he sending a Classy 4 year old ofer fences.
|
|
By:
The manner in which Sir Gino has taken to schooling over fences has encouraged Nicky Henderson to fast forward his unbeaten star's chasing career, with the Arkle identified as his new target at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.
The Grade 1-winning four-year-old had been set to stay over hurdles this season but Henderson described his jumping at his Seven Barrows base as "extremely good" and is plotting a similar route to March to the one he used for stable greats Altior and Shishkin. Those two, who won Cheltenham's two-mile novice championship chase in 2017 and 2021 respectively, kicked off their careers over fences in Kempton's 2m2f beginners' chase which is Sir Gino's intended seasonal comeback on November 25. "He's a big, strong, chasing-type of horse and there's a lot to be said for starting off over fences as a four-year-old because of the allowances," the six-time champion trainer said on Tuesday. "We tried him a few weeks ago over a fence and he was just so good. He's a highly talented horse as a hurdler but what we saw the other day from him was extremely good. He looks like a chaser, he's a big boy." |
|
By:
And yet Chemical said that if CH doesn't go for the Fighting Firth, Sir Gino will be rerouted back over hurdles.
It can't be both can it |
|
By:
He's hoping CH is as good as he was in which case nothing can beat him. But it's a big if.

For anyone who hasnt seen the majority of the gallop. Sir Gino never off bit when C.Hill asked to quicken:https://t.attheraces.com/dont-miss-this/constitution-hill-gallops-at-newbury-with-sir-gino!-all-the-ability-is-still-there!
