Spot on,Aberdonia.More desperate PR for the sport, with everyone trying to defend it.

I have been switching between rugger and this.... taken aback by this. I am now being two faced, whilst understanding what Mick Fitz is saying the life they get, the counter argument they do not get a choice.
At a point like this I do not know the right words, so I will say no more, and hope these 2 horses go to the racing barn heaven RIP. |
|
By:
Just interviewing the owner who was oblivious to the horses collapse... absolutely devastating for all concerned, RIP both brave Horses.

3 1/2 miles over jumps it's not racing, it's galloping to a standstill. I love flat racing and yes,
horses break legs but rarely drop from a heart attack. It's one reason I've never had an interest in the Jumps. |
|
By:
fitzy their bred to do it on paper yes
but in the last race 3 or 4 of them were literally climbing over the fences looked like they,d never seen one before,Under supervision could have been pulled up a lot early carried on and absolutely burried himself at fence top of the hill, they cant tell the jock they've had enough |

Respect to Chamberlain for not ducking this...

By:
The only safe way to have National Hunt Racing is not to have National Hunt Racing.
|
|
By:
Ive always preferred flat racing, enjoy NH, but its a war of attrition where horses are pushed into fences and asked for an effort when they are fcked....
|
|
By:
All this will be fuel for the animal rights nutters and they won't differentiate between jumps and
flat racing. |
|
By:
Cardiovascular collapses, falls galore, the best horse in France pulls up having bled. These horses no longer have the constitution (ironic word considering the way Constitution Hill has had to be handled with kid gloves) to stand up to the demands of National Hunt racing. The death rate is just far too high. It's days are numbered here.
We normally follow Australia's lead just with a few year's delay. |

ive just watched a flat race at Toulouse on the grass under floodlights, middle of November...
|
|
By:
take their right about 2 horses dying at navan, but Lisa and Gary absolutely giddy with excitement about the days racing as compared to subdued atmosphere, whatever they say their just btools of thew trade in ire and forget in a nano second especially the lower grade ones, which in Ireland is literally 1000,s

Aber..yes Toulouse is in the South of France so turf growth probably better than here however, if we
can have jumps races on turf in the winter, why can't we have flat racing in the winter on turf? |
