For Shawshank to be imdb's no.1 movie is a serious overrating too.

If some aspect of a movie hasn't hooked me in 15 mins I'm off, usually I'm wondering
who the hell put money into the project.

The only film I ever walked out of was Fritz the Cat, The worst over rated film I ever saw was The French Lieutenant's Woman. However being the age what I am, the last film I saw in the cinema was Daniel Craig's Casino Royale. That wasn't marvellous either. Judgement really is on a generational level so my choices are based on films before most of yous time!

Any animated film, especially with famous actors doing the voices, is invariably garbage.

Billy Elliot
Brassed Off
Full Monty
Bank of Dave..
... and any others out there, based on the premise of demonstrating that not all Northerners are thick and uncultured and thereby perpetuating the very stereotype they patronisingly set out to shoot down.. AAARgghhh!!

Must admit I've never really got Godfather (and it's offsprings) either - not that it's a terrible film or set of films, just that it's not anything great (IMO).

For that topic area (gangster film work) Goodfellas and Sopranos (TV series format I know) far better and more interesting to watch (again IMO)
