Horse well talked up in the usual publications, and consequently punted from 9/4 to long odds on.
Bowen held up a couple of novices at Carlisle yesterday. He got away with it on one, but lost on the other one. Who knows what he will be up to on this one? I much prefer to see the keep it simple ride that Dylan Johnston produced on Celtic Dino than Bowen farting about trying to be clever. Woodland Park ended up having a pretty hard first run over hurdles. Pretty sure that wasn't the idea.
The other thing to consider with Wade Out is the trip. The full brother didn't even run over two miles, and the dam won over 2m6f. The sensible option would be to make all. Perhaps some of those backing it know that is going to happen, but for most that is speculation. It's not the usual tactics for this outfit.
I would imagine the winner is pretty good, certainly for early season. As expected the ride wasn't great. If he bungles the last he probably gets beat. It looks an obvious call to go up in trip, but Bowen thinks staying at two miles is the right idea.
