My prediction for 2025 Irish Champion Apprentice!

How does it work George, have never taken much interest before. Does a jockey just have to still have a 3lbs claim on 1st January to qualify for the apprentice title next year? Ireland has so many good young apprentices it really depends who they get rides for. I did say nearly 2 years ago that Adam Caffrey would become champion jockey one day, never thought to have a bet on Apprentice title this year, he was 2 ahead on wins before today or is it done on prizemoney won?

She had just the one ride today, stewarts, a 'no-hoper' in the lucky last at the Curragh, Genuine Jim finished 4th of 27 at 100-1.

She will have to pick up lots of outside rides, her lot have not had a winner for 6 years or so, it can be done though, good luck.

Mr Impossible, this is a horse racing forum and how it works is people start topics on various subjects, and some may be of interest to some but perhaps not to others, which is fair enough, in which case just ignore it.

But in your case, a wise man has something to say but a fool has to say something, and a boring fool at that.

As for this thread, merely trying to identify an apprentice that may be worth following before she's even ridden a winner under rules, and you could say instant vindication because on her very next ride she's ridden a 100-1 placer.

GEORGE, I see she's claiming the full 10lb on one tomorrow for Adrian Murray in the 5.10 at the Dundalk.

Her only other ride there is in the 4.35 for another stable where she's only claiming 7lb.

Presumably she's apprenticed to Adrian Murray then and not the 'winnerless for six years' R.P.Burns alluded to by Jinxy1 earlier.

top2rated, I'm not sure who's she apprenticed to, but the second ride is in an apprentices' race which might explain why it's 7lb and not 10lb.

JJ. Pietropaolo who won the 14.25 at the Curragh today claiming 10lbs is destined for great things imho.

The article says Nicola Burns was champion lady rider, so presumably no surprise to anyone following the pony racing scene that she looks quite accomplished in the saddle already.

I've just noticed that my reply to stewarts's question has been removed, which was nothing controversial.

Tom Queally was champion apprentice in Ireland in 2000 and again in Britain four years later!

Interesting spot, George. I will keep an eye on her.

Stewarts Rise has spotted a few Irish apprentices over the years who have done well too.

She's got a massive pull at the weights with Soaring Monarch George, whether horse will stay 12fs on heavy remains to be seen.

Pietropaulo beats her to it, good 2nd though.

stewarts, if only we'd listened to punchestown and not me we would have had a nice double-figure priced winner there.

She has a couple of decent rides today George but will do well to peg back Pietropaolo in the last.

Did her best from the front but run down in final furlong, held on for 5th for EW backers.
