Had been leading for more than 2 furlongs, but tried to pretend it came with a late run

keep saying it.  Thommo is living in the 1980's, when punters couldn't see what was happening and were at the mercy of the blower.

oh, and i was listening on the radio..it really was like the "good old" extel days..

Thommo very unusually doesn't leave it to the judge but calls the winner in a desperate attempt to demonstrate that his eyesight is good enough for commentating.
