Lee Mottershead on, giving his thoughts on the Cheltenham changes, 'the customers would rather enjoy a 20 runner h,cap than a 5 runner grade 1'. Really?.
Sorry reply cut off. When ante post died then for me i lost all interest in Cheltenham until day of race. Then it became pretty much like any Saturday race day full of good races. And id prefer competitive races and larger fields rather than 4/5 Mullins horses in 5 runner fields.

Turned it off because Persad is little more than a conveyor belt of cheerleading. May as well put a robot on his seat.
It looks like races are being shaped by a combination of the bookmakers and the media. They may as well be one and the same.
As regards the changes there would be much more of an ante-post market for a non-handicap. You won't know the entries for the handicaps until much closer to the race.
Hardly anyone on here puts up pre-race winners whether it be a 5 runner race, or a 20 runner handicap. There's nothing to suggest any big handicap winners. It's all very well talking about picking them, very few can back that up.
With respect to Mullins, yes, it's infuriating when he shuffles the pack and you are on the wrong side, but you can also get very good returns on the horses that go off much shorter on the day.
