Yet another delay due to medical issues. The shortage of doctors/paramedics will bring racing to a standstill at this rate.

They do have at least one on duty but if there is a medical incident with a racegoer, the race can't take place until the doctor is back in one of the moving vehicles following the race. So a sick racegoer has priority over racing. Lunacy.

Only four horses in a flat race.

Not much risk.

So why not run the race?

Does the same shambles happen in formula 1 or rallying / motocross? I accept that the ambulance would struggle to keep up but largely the same potential issues and never saw any if their races delayed.

Modification of the rules required I think. Another shambles overseen by the BHA overlords.

I wonder if medieval jousting tournaments were this shambolic? "Squire, fetch me more alcohol free wine!"
As Stewart Lee's gran might say, its Health and Safety gone mad!

Formula 1 could afford 100 doctors-and that is just for the drivers and their entourage! Racing can't afford to pay a spare doctor to attend in case a racegoer gets drunk and falls over. Good point about the paramedics but I think that a Vet and a Doctor have to follow the horses round as well.

Find the ones that like a free lunch and watching racing. Offer them £100 an hour. No great problem.
