An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong when RUMSTAR, placed fourth, ridden by Hector Crouch, interfered with ALBASHEER (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Hollie Doyle. The Stewards, having had a squint at Hollie's sylvesters,  considered that the interference had improved RUMSTAR’s placing as the ground and momentum lost by ALBASHEER (IRE) was more than the diminishing short head in which the gelding was beaten by at the line. The placings were therefore revised as follows: First – AMERICAN AFFAIR; Second – APOLLO ONE; Third – JM JUNGLE (IRE); Fourth – ALBASHEER (IRE); Fifth – RUMSTAR. Crouch was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed without sufficient correction initially carrying ALBASHEER (IRE) off its intended line and thereafter causing the gelding to become short of room for a number of strides on the run to the line.
