I got his autograph as a young boy, when he was Jed Stone in Corrie, think he was Minnie Caldwells lodger, he opened the new Perry Barr Precinct which was a long time ago knocked down, and replaced by One Stop. Think he was also in a series set in Greece or Spain as an ex pat living there, RIP Kenneth.

Carry On Screaming was brilliant. Most of the early ones were great too. Carry On Cowboy and Carry On Cleo were other classics. Right now, I am watching Hugh and I with Hugh Lloyd and Terry Scott. Still as funny now as it was way back in the sixties. They were not just funny but classic comic actors too.

differentdrum -- yes, Cope wore a wig in Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased). Remarkably, he wore it backwards in two episodes.
Also, from Cope's Telegraph obituary, he was a writer:- During his run in Coronation Street, Cope appeared in – and wrote sketches for – all 37 episodes of the satirical BBC series That Was the Week That Was (1962-63). ... Cope also wrote the children’s football serial Striker (1975-76) and Thingumybob (1968), starring Stanley Holloway as a mischievous pensioner (with a theme tune written by Paul McCartney), as well as episodes of other sitcoms such as The Dustbinmen (1970), The Squirrels (1976-77) and A Sharp Intake of Breath (1978). https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2024/09/12/kenneth-cope-actor-randall-hopkirk-deceased-died-obituary/ (£££)

For those that don't know Allo Allo was a parody of the BBC drama series Secret Army which was televised from 1977-79 and ran for 43 episodes which told the fictional story of the Belgium resistance during WW2, who set out to return shot down British pilots back to Britain. Some of the scenes in Allo Allo set in Renes' cafe are virtually identical but with a comedic twist to scenes in Secret Army. Allo Allo ran from 82-92, i always felt the first few series were the best before Gordon Kayes accident and the latter series got more and more ridiculous with Francesca Gonshaw and Sue Hodge surely two of the worst actresses ever to appear on TV.

Thank you T2R, that's amazing, if anyone wants to see a snapshot of how Britain has changed in 60 years just compare that to the crowds at the One Stop shopping centre now, somewhat different. Don't recall seeing her, not surprised considering the crowd as a little 10 yo boy, but remember queueing up for Kenneth Copes autograph.
