Not exactly that, dealer but... I was told yesterday that those 2 firms, either singly or jointly, are in talks to take over the running of the T0te Of course, baldy was running it until a few years ago Think Britbet run it at present So, your rumour mill may be correct, in part at least

We had a Hills shop in our town for as long as I can remember. That went several years ago now. I couldn’t even tell you where my nearest one would be.
I can’t believe any bookies aren’t making it pay. The gambling community is full of mugs who will happily lose day after day. All these bookies closing losing accounts after one good day is madness too. Keep them open and play the long game. The worst punters out there are gonna win some days, but never every day.
Not heard the rumours but Fred seems far too arrogant to merge with anyone. Buying them out would seem more up his street if he could afford it.

There is still plenty of money kicking about sk, especially in the betting terminals. The business plan is all wrong though, opening shops till ten because a competitor does is madness.

The Tote was established and owned by the UK Government until July 2011 when it was sold to Betfred for £265m. It was sold to UK Tote Group - a consortium of over 150 individual investors involved in the sport as racehorse owners and breeders - in October 2019 for £115m.

It’s the same down here, mate. Most of the employees are women and they are single manning at that time. They hate locking up on the dark nights, even in a half decent area there’s a few wrong uns about.
There was a time that the competitiveness between the bookies helped the punter. Eg one firm go BOG every race, others close by follow. You don’t even get that any more. The FOBT’s are really in big demand here either so the 10pm close seems even more ridiculous.

100% about the fobts, I'm sure certain areas probably do better than others but they are making a fraction of what they did. Football on the betting terminals is booming

They seem popular here too. As I’ve said before though I’ve no idea why. The prices are so far out of line with what you get online. As an example, you could get 8/1 online for some random Argentinian game being over 3.5 goals. It would be 11/2 or 6/1 at best on them. That’s some difference.

Dealer/Kenbo, there are some strange ones on the side markets on football matches on the shop machines sometimes... A short priced fav at home the other week were 11/10 to win and over 2.5 goals, and 11/8 to win and over 3.5 goals... One of the prices obviously wrong I went for the 2.5 option and they won 5-0 or something
Glasgow, Britbet may run it on behalf of the consortium... At the track it's their staff at the windows

It sounds like there’s possibly a few decent bets to be had on there then, Reg. no different to wading through the sh1te on every other market we bet on really.
