The real origins of timeform

Many people believe that timeform was invented by Phil bull in Halifax. But he got the idea from stories past down through his family generations.
It all started back 1889. A clued up team of punters realised that if they could get accurate times of the derby trials winners. They could work out which horse was the quickest. The key to this was the 3 week gap between the last trial the Dante. And the derby. As moving pictures hadn’t been invented. They needed to take still photos every 55 yards. 4 per furlong along the track. Like the drone boys today. They positioned people to take the photo. These pictures were then smuggled along the Silk Road to India. See above.
