The night before my first child was born I left my wife in the maternity hospital telling her I was going to get a Good nights sleep and be as fresh as a daisy in the morning.I absolutely booted it to the nearest betting shop -calling VIc CHandler on have €150 each way on RIver Caity in a novice whase where WEstender was the 2/11fav.IIRC the race started at 7:45 and River CIty cruised around winning easily.
That was 20years ago and there was never a doubt about the bet being accepted.
