Duffy - Coleman was right, that's exactly what's going on, at least for me. On a straight course you want to know where the split is if two groups form and who's leading both groups, looking for slow starters is both useful and affords some time.

Sorry about the R's Smoky. It's tricky, I'm not French as you can tell but I reckon a modicum of respect for the local language is reasonable. I have been called a pretentious **** for my troubles.

Elise - A lot of use is made of monitors even by on-course commentators. It would be nice to use the naked eye but we do also have a 2 sec delay screen as well as live which helps somewhat.

Btw, on the Equidia comms there are a lot of new voices appearing. Fitzgerald, Powell, Fussey and Owen should all be pretty familiar.

iggy, lol.. I'm sorry about that, bit mean of them.. Interesting though, and great to have your perspective...
Love your Deauville and Longchamp comms in particular.. I've heard Owen sometimes, he's good, I've always liked Darren, and really impressed with Fussey, he has just the right tones for me. Not heard the others. iggy.. I'm a Zarak obsessive, hence my annoyance at getting the name wrong in my first post, being a filly by that sire. I watch them all. Wish me luck for Metropolitan on Sunday if he runs, place at best I s'pose. To make amends, I enjoy Ian Bartlett at Newmarket, he's made for that course. |

Iggy any chance of doing a commentary without making reference to the betting, or the 'Market leaders' and the like? Just calling every horse equal?

Just doing my catch-up and came to the 1.30 at Chantilly on monday.
What's going on with Barty? The promising horse that leads throughout and wins is Nitoi, but for some reason Barty combines it with the prefix USA to invent a different name. Hard to believe. |
