Did it jump the fence if not got to be thrown out surely
Report Writz August 24, 2024 4:44 PM BST
So week ago we had a horse run outside a rail on the flat and now we have a horse that doesn’t jump a fence but jumps outside the fence and both keep the race what hope is there for punters I give up
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 24, 2024 4:52 PM BST

First of all it was the second fence and it didn’t jump the fence at all it jumped between the plastic railing and the fence but well done you for knowing a rule I knew nothing about I layed it for twelve hundred knowing it did not jump the fence at all but like the other week I layed the horse at Catterick for going the wrong side of the rails on the flat course but stewards said it didn’t matter cost me another 1500 hard lessons have been learned but given time I hopefully will make my money back just left a sick feeling in my stomach but ignorance of the rules have cost me dearly but again well done you

That’s why your a millionaire and I’m fkn poor Sad
Report jamee1 August 24, 2024 6:15 PM BST
Interesting. So where is the line drawn here?

If it had knocked the wing to the floor would that have still been ok? Does anything go as long as the horse passes to the right of it?

Report Writz August 24, 2024 6:25 PM BST
It clearly didn’t jump any of the fence that is why I layed it but the Irish stewards have said that doesn’t matter as it stayed between the railings so then we go back to Catterick where the stewards said the railings was not part of the course so I ask why are they there and the second question is if there’s a fence and you don’t jump it why have it but I’m just a punter who doesn’t understand the rules of racing
Report Lazza7 August 24, 2024 6:28 PM BST
they have voided my inrunning bet on that race

Super luck incoming for Writz.

Killarney 16:15 looks to have been voided in-running due to impact of the outage.

Report Writz August 24, 2024 6:30 PM BST
I just don’t understand the rules fences are made to be jumped if you don’t jump them why have them it’s not right
Report Writz August 24, 2024 6:34 PM BST
Should have done the same for the flat race if a rail is there it’s part of the course
Report Writz August 24, 2024 6:35 PM BST
Common sense prevails who are these idiots running the stewards

Both the 4.10 and 4.15 have to be voided. They were never turned in play.

that was posted in the crash thread
Report Writz August 24, 2024 6:45 PM BST
Yes mate money back in thanks but that’s down to luck I still can’t get my head around these stupid stewards laying is hard enough without these crazy decisions the flat race really got me as if the rail was deemed not to be part of the track how hard was it to take it away before racing commenced
Report jamee1 August 24, 2024 6:50 PM BST
Catterick I agree was surprising. Killarney decision today is logical.
Report jamee1 August 24, 2024 6:51 PM BST
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the second fence where it appeared Artic Fly went left after take off jumping through the birch upright and rubbing the wing. Evidence was heard from P. Townend who stated that his mount gave him no warning on take off that she was going to jump left. P. Townend also added that he was satisfied he had taken the correct course and that he was inconvenienced by the mistake. Having considered the matter and heard the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that, as per Regulation 9, Artic Fly had remained on the correct side of the bundle of birch at the commencement of the rail to determine the correct course approaching the fence and jumped inside the wing of the fence. They were therefore satisfied that no further action was warranted.
Report Writz August 24, 2024 7:06 PM BST
Yes but at the end of the day what ever words people say the horse and jockey did not jump the fence so surely you would have to be disqualified as jump racing is called that for that reason if you don’t jump the fence what is the point of having them I’m only talking logically as a in running punter James I’ve won thousands and lost thousands but a even playing field is all I ask but if I’m honest I still can’t get over Catterick was shocking in mho
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 24, 2024 9:15 PM BST
wasnt catterick..was ripon wasnt it?
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 24, 2024 9:30 PM BST

it jumped over the turret shaped part of the fence and bent it over..as townsend said 'it inconvenienced itself'..gained absolutely nothing..correct decision.

Where ever it was was wrong decision if a railing is there surely that’s the course so why was it there poor course management but hey ho and watch again never jumped any of the fence jumped to the side between the railings but voided anyway so lucky escape for me this game is a hard one and I’ve learned two new rulings in a couple of weeks
Report Writz August 24, 2024 10:46 PM BST
Thirsk it was Cider
Report Writz August 24, 2024 11:23 PM BST
Watched it a hundred times clearly doesn’t jump any of the fence and jumps between the turret and the fence so I totally disagree with you on this one Rico but like I said well done you for your knowledge of the rules a lesson has been learned by me with a lucky escape unfortunately no so lucky at Thirsk with the craziest of rulings in mho
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 25, 2024 12:09 AM BST
hows it bent the turret bit over if it never touched it?
Report Writz August 25, 2024 9:20 AM BST
Watch the replay clearly shows the horse jumping to the side and its backend pushing it forward as it’s screwing in mid air pushing the turret forward jumped no part of the fence at all
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 25, 2024 11:22 AM BST
jumped as high as it would if were 4ft to the right..common sense prevailed.
Report punchestown August 25, 2024 12:36 PM BST
Correct decision by the Stewards, that bit it jumped through is still birch and part of the fence.
Report THE-SEER August 25, 2024 12:41 PM BST
there was a worse case several years ago ,  6 furlong race horse burst through the stalls a fraction of a second before the off ,  grabbed the rails and led all the way ,  RESULT STOOD
