The Stewards who sucked this in are an example of the lack of scrutiny within horseracing - disgraceful

Not convinced Kelly doesn't agree with him. It's a discussion topic and the anchor is more or less obliged to challenge opinion to make the debate. You couldn't call it a heartfelt rebuke.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

steerforth...

he does the interviews at racecourses gig...

he doesn't want to upset jockeys in case they tell him to do one when he asks them for an interview...

if that happens his head honchos will probably look elsewhere for an interviewer (which is wrong imv but that's how these folk work)...

thus you get these folk defending jockeys the vast vast vast majority of the time (very nearly always)...

it's the head honchos who should stick by the person who are to blame...

and i just hope nowt happens to Seb Sanders for giving an honest view on this...

if Doyle doesn't do interviews on that channel then so be it...

that's the attitude the ATR head honchos should take if Doyle goes down that road...

let's see.

Seb's days on that channel are numbered imo

he was dead right but the head honcho's will be furious at him telling it as it was, that's absolutely not what they do on there.

kelly probably had a producer in his ear screaming at him to get Seb to shut the fk up ....

wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised tbh hulk...

if they do ditch him we will know EXACTLY the reason why.

I mean Doyle said he was in danger of being unseated and that is why he stopped riding,i have heard some boll0x in my time but that takes the biscuit.....Look at the replay where is the evidence of that statement?...Liar liar pants on fire.Plain

much prefer the mick fitz "everything is rosey" approach.  just stop oil protestor runs on the track, fitzy - you could not wish to meet a nicer just stop oil protestor, he's a lovely lad, puts a lot into his protesting and deserves all he gets.

Seb Sanders spot on...

'on situations like this i don't think jockeys should be in the stewards room'...

i totally agree...

we can see with our own eyes...

we don't need excuses from jockeys BHA.

Great stuff Seb. Total breath of fresh air. He was 100% right on the two meeting rule as well. Again only one to speak out. Producers....more of this please. BHA/Stewards totally spineless. Don't blame Doyle for trying his "best" in the stewards room, but like Seb says his comments shouldn't really be considered.

Would the BHA take what this fella has to say as fact?

In a way it's disappointing the fuss around this. It just confirms how bad things are when it comes to the idea of the media doing anything but cheerleading. Sanders was stating the blindingly obvious. Playing devil's advocate - if that's what it was - doesn't work when in reality there isn't another side to the story. Kelly ended up looking a total plank. I have only seen two defences of the ride - Doyle himself and the forum's chief attention seeker. That's as close to a zero as you can get.
By:

i think it's fair to say the Windsor stewards and the BHA head honchos have defended the ride (via the back door) differentdrum.

differ... Couldn't agree more with your reference to cheerleaders. It's not just racing

presenters but most sport these days. I watched the Olympics on a subscription channel and

there was non of the sycophantic rubbish presented on the BBC. I would rather go to the

dentist than watch the Bbs coverage. It's the same with football. Every goal scored is

'incredible!' or 'unbelievable!'

Today's presenters are there to hype not to comment.

Just wrongfooted by the previous post, hayden.  The BBC didn't do a bad job back then and many on here still reminisce about those old presenters.

Kelly thinks that because Doyle rode the horse, we must take his explanation on trust. Unbelievable. Taken to the logical conclusion, this would abrogate the need for any stewards at all. "I say Mr Jockey, did you interfere with the 2nd past the post?" "No" "Fine. Thank you for being so honest. Results stands then."

they should stop asking jockeys to participate in Stewards Enquiries imv DP...

totally pointless imv.
By:

When: 21 Aug 24 14:22
when they threw Doyle out at Goodwood that chief steward had already made his mind up, the whole talking to the jockeys thing was just a circus for the cameras.  what they said made absolutely no difference.

We shouldn't be surprised at anything that happens with stewards and pundits alike as they are bonded by their obscene sychophancy and that will be part and parcel of racing ad infinitum.

This episode, however, is absolutely grotesque in particular.

Sophie Candy (Chief Steward), Georgina Cartwright (Stewards’ Panel Chair), Cody Watkins (Steward), Kelly O’Boyle (Assistant Steward), Josie Brown-Smith (Raceday Assistant)

have we established who this lot are and how many winners they've ridden between them ??
By:

When: 21 Aug 24 15:25
they all sound very 'Lambournish' to me hulk...

horsey types...

as with most stewards it's normally a mate of a mate of a mate of a mate of a mate and they have some sort of connection to the racing world...

or the son or daughter of someone in racing...

the BHA is an absolute farce of an organisation imv...

i could give you an example but it's probably best done in a DM tbh.
By:

O'Boyle used to muck out the stables for Paul Nicholls.

not sure how that qualifies her to decide whether a jockey picks up a ban or not.

does the BHA not even understand how bad the optics look when sons and daughters of trainers / establishment figures etc are given stewarding jobs ?

the answer is YES they do...

but they don'y give a flying fk.
