That bloke who set fire to the police vehicle got 2yrs 5months which thanks to the new government wanting to get people released quicker means he won't even do 1yr. Year inside for setting fire to a police vehicle and violent disorder. I'd say these sentences would encourage people not put them off. Thought the arson type offences would be longer to be honest. I'd say they've just gone for the easier charges to process them quicker by getting guilty pleas.

See they charged him with "arson reckless as to endanger life". Likely get at least 4 years possibly 10 and also he won't be liable to the early release efforts in place due to sentence length. Could well make a significant example of him to illustrate there's no two tier policing.

Be interesting what those who set fire to the Hotel In Rotherham are charged with. They've just gone after the low hanging fruit so far. The big charges will be to come.

I'm all for rapid and strong justice, as long as it's not two tier in the application (somehow I don't believe that it won't be).

Thanks Joe, obviously it came a long period before the riots after the slaughter in Southport. Perhaps if it was a swift and as public as they are making the recent prosecutions, the subsequent riots could have been avoided.

An OnlyFans model who threw a milkshake at Nigel Farage during the general election campaign has pleaded not guilty to assault.

Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, confronted the Reform UK leader as he left the Moon and Starfish Wetherspoons pub in Clacton-on-Sea on June 4.

She was pictured throwing a McDonald’s banana milkshake into Mr Farage’s face, and was then arrested and charged with assault and criminal damage.

At Westminster magistrates court on Tuesday, she pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram set the case down for a trial on October 21, with Mr Farage set to be among the witnesses.

What we know about the state and/or the police is when they get in a panic they care more about how things look than justice. Starmer gets to say there's been swift justice when in reality some of those charged are lucky they weren't charged with a higher offence. They wanted early guilty pleas and to rush them through. That bloke who set fire to the police van is lucky. Lets wait until we see what those who started the fire at Rotherham are charged with, these will be the larger sentences and interesting there's been nothing about this so far.

I agree the total inaction by the police at Harehills certainly played a part in the subsequent riots. It's ironic that those riots will likely mean that the bloke who set fire to the bus will be made an example of as they'll be super keen to show there isn't two tier policing.

Hopefully it will see a true levelling up Joe. I somehow doubt it as Starmer's mob despises these people and what they represent. So it's very easy. He will go up in my estimation if it remains consistent with people he has more sympathy with.

I think they are incredibly stupid, and no way in the world should they have been harming the cops or put anyone else in physical danger. But when the ballot box has failed so many times, and others are seen to get what they want through nefarious tactics, violence was inevitable.

There's no trial if you front up. And yes everyone has an opportunity to fight a defence, not matter how absurd it may appear.

Long sentences have been handed out today to people who encouraged disorder on social media.

Bradley Makin, 21, of Simonside Road, Springwell, Sunderland, who posted videos of himself "roaring encouragement" at rioters in Sunderland on his Instagram account, has been jailed for two years.

Not too promising for the Labour chap filmed physically advocating for throats to be slashed.

Although I was informed that the police tweeted the video clip of him doing it. No shortage of irony there !

'far right racist' is a simple brush for a pretty complex situation, and there were many factors that fed into the disorder.

As I posted earlier, anyone getting involved in physical harm or criminal damage is incredibly stupid. Anyone engaging in demonstrable racist activity should be called out on it.

fwiw I feel like Farage dropped a bollock leaning on unverified reports about the murder suspect in Southport. 99.9% of the time he is very reliable in what he amplifies, so why he went down the route of for example leaning on the unsubstantiated claim the suspect was known to the authorities I don't know (we still don't actually know if he was or wasn't). We can't see it now but on Politics I was urging people to be careful referencing those reports, it smelt fishy to me, and it proved to be so. He should admit to the error in my view, nobody is perfect.

There's a reckless disposition there. Growing up in London I went to many many places that were fighting pubs and clubs, and if you wanted a punch up you could easily find one. Every now and then a completely innocent person bumps into the wrong man, but most times any getting involved in fights wants to beat their chests and prove how hard they are. What we saw in my view was an awful lot of those types show up. It was not coordinated far right groups travelling hundreds of miles like the legacy media and authorities tries to gaslight us with. The actual coordination game from the so called anti racist protests on Wednesday, and the legacy media preparing everyone for something that was never going to happen.

Latest of the bloke who set fire to bus in Harehills. He's pled guilty to the arson but looks like it's a lower charge as it's reckless rather than intended to endanger life. Haven't charged him with any riot based offence. Means could likely get 2-4 years rather than anything more. We'll see. back in court on 29th Aug.
