i've actually convinced myself it's something outwith the whole computer spectrum...

it's as if there's a signal interfering with RTV LV in some way...

it's weird coz ATR LV is fine.

i've gone back to the Display Port in to the telly...

it's got me baffled tbh...

i'll try an old pc tomorrow and see how it goes...

cheers anyway guys.

and i tried a laptop too...

both were pausing...

will get another old pc down from the loft and give that a try at some point.

RTV is much lower latency that ATR so it's logical that the RTV stream may store less in a buffer and therefore be more fragile.

that's what i was thinking too tbh jamee...

i'm no expert but it just looks to me like something in the house is interfering with RTV LV...

god knows how that can happen but that's how it appears from where i'm sitting.

i wish i could find the thread i started when i was asking about getting a new pc in December tbh...

coz i can't remember the state of play back then.

There could be other very rare longshots...

> Networking issue with the broadband in your block/street so affecting both you and your neighbour.
> Something in your house causing radio interference. https://www.thinkbroadband.com/guides/broadband-interference-guide
> God hates you. Laugh

If your 'newer new' PC suffers the same problems when it arrives it might be worth trying a connection via a mobile phone hotspot if you can get a decent 4G/5G signal. If that also skips then it would totally rule out any kind of broadband also.

personally i think it's someone at either RTV or Betfair hitting the pause button for my LV feed jamee...

when my other neighbour come back from the Olympic Games i might ask her if i can use her broadband to see how that fares.

i wouldn't know how to do that mobile hotspot thingy tbh jamee.

It's straightforward if you have a reasonably decent phone. What mobile phone do you have? And if you run that same speed test on your phone (without internet connection) what speed do you get back?
By:

you want me to run a speedtest on my phone using wifi jamee ?

just for a laugh i totally unplugged the speakers for that Ballinrobe race...

it's hard to tell coz normally the pausing is more obvious when you hear the commentary...

but it seemed better (if not perfect)...

definitely less pausing than the previous race...

but as it comes and goes i'm not convinced.

Disconnect your phone from wifi and run the speed test.

i'm struggling jamee...

turned wifi off on the phone...

went to google - chrome and it came back saying no internet connection...

Mobile Data is on (well i think it is anyway).

Ballinrobe 19:53...

i changed over the speakers...

popped in a very cheap/tinny pair...

and no pausing at all...

and the race previously i had unplugged the speakers i have had in for months and i am pretty sure there was no pausing.
