This starts tomorrow with the key race being the Goodwood Cup. The main protagonist is Kyprios (a shortie).
The race of the meeting could be the Sussex Stakes on wednesday. Rosallion/Henry Longfellow/Notable Speech are taking one another on again; Rosallion is slightly odds-on and has the ground to his liking; Henry Longfellow and Notable Speech may not.
On thursday in the Nassau Stakes Opera Singer (3yr old) is taking on he elders Emily Upjohn and Inspiral; the former is running over 10f for the 1st time; the latter are on a recovery mission after several disappointing runs in the past.
The two popular betting handicap races are the Golden Mile (friday), and the Stewards Cup (saturday).
What's the pace angle in the Sussex, does it have the potential to become a crawl? I guess Ryan will try to make it on Henry... but if he goes a good clip, it would help Rosallion settle; a slow pace and he risks Rosallion having far too much speed for him.... potentially very interesting tactically, but also potentially very messy. Maybe Buick could take the bull by the horns, but not been ridden in any way forward in his races to date. Factor Cheval may go forward... but could easily be a race where no-one wants to lead, and turning very unsatisfactory.

'Andriy', thanks for your contribution. I think this Festival has been overlooked by the majority or this year's renewal is a damp squib compared to previous; Sussex Stakes the possible race of the meeting.
