Everything we've seen from this horse is that he needs winding up and grinds through his race....so he allows himself to get into a 2 furlong sprint.

Precise thing you worried about if you were a supporter...and it happened.

Woeful giving horses that much lead at this level

Yeah maybe, problem you've got thought is the "lovable" Stoute is a bit like flat equivalent of Henderson with these older stars, always an issue or too, so there's just as much chance of Passenger encountering another setback as actually getting to the Judmonte.!!

No indication in the run that he was injured. Even on the reply on the run out just after the line appeared perfectly sound.

I thought the poor ride was Shepherd on the second. Had looked a strong stayer, and he effectively created the sprint finish.

We never know what they are actually told to do. Later on Kingscote rode Ziggy like he should have rode Passenger if they wanted to win the race, pretty sure he was told to delay the challenge with a view to the future. Which has now backfired obviously. There's less than a handful of jocks that would have took charge of a race like that, and one of them no longer rides in this country.
