He has now given two heavily odds on shots that should have won comfortably two of the most god awful rides I have ever seen? Once I can understand  but two in half an hour? Incompetence or cheat?

Windsor a long way South for a Northern jock.

Record poor:- 1 win from 15 rides.

IMO he would lose his licence in most countries little or no effort to either horse the 1/3 poke was ridden like a no hoper, in Hong Kong quite likely physical harm would be administered on the way back to the stables. The stewards surely have to act on that ride in the 18.20

Certainly in Hong Kong he would be in big trouble

unfortuately i backed both earlier(1.74 and 1.42) so pocket talking i suppose but agree with previous posters. Bold Impact seemed to be hard held by the line, so nearly caught out by not letting the winner get far enough ahead. Made no mistake with Under Seige though, immediately took pull to drop to last and then took another pull to drop it out completely, 3 lengths out the back. But we all know the skullduggery that goes on. We just hope we are not on the ones that are 'not wanted at the moment'.
Expensive £3.5k lesson. Not the first time(with Spudcoke it is) and defo won't be the last(With Spudcke it will be lol)

"Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that UNDER SIEGE (IRE), placed third, was slowly away"

Stewards inquired into the ride. So Mr Tudhope, do you have anything to add to your "slowly away" comment?  Do you think you should have made an effort to lay up with the leaders?  Are you satisfied that you gave the horse every possible opportunity to do its best?   Answers came there none. Well actually questions came there none.  No enquiry for a 30/100 favourite!!!!

i'm confused.  he told Matt Chapman it was because he injured his leg exiting the starting stalls.  he couldn't therefore ride the horse and to show how severe the injury was he gave up his ride in the following race.  but when questioned by the stewards he merely explained that the horse was slowly away ??

Hulk, he wasnt questioned by the stewards! Here merely reported at scales that the horse was slowly away. Why he did not report his injury if that was material to his performance is beyond me, as is the lack of a stewards given the quality (sic) of the ride.

Part of the trouble in horse racing is that there are so many pocket-talking jockey bashers out there on this forum, in the Twittersphere, that when there is a truly filthy ride (like in the 18:20 Windsor tonight), it's not really news or that big a deal any more.

The boy that cried wolf and all that.

So flabbergasted was I by Tudhope's so obvious double non-trier antics that I felt compelled to rejoin the BF forum after a self-imposed exile to express my concern at the path horseracing seems to be hellbent on - recreating the rampant cheating of the seventies. How can this blatant unsophisticated corruption go unpunished?
My question to the Forum is why haven't the sport's journos sought the reaction of the respective trainers - Beckett and, especially Balding, the latter having a chequered history as regards hotpots getting turned over. Was either trainer satisfied with the ride given? Their feet will not be held to the fire as the gravy-slurpers don't want to derail the train!

do people really think he intentionally stopped a 1/3 fav?
By:
hulk23
When: 15 Jul 24 21:35
why didn't he report being injured and unable to ride the horse properly at the scales ?  is that not more material than being 'slowly away'.  couple minutes later he remembers he's injured and reports it to Matt Chapman so he can relay it to all and sundry who were rightly questioning the ride, including Chappers himself (although he has to be careful how he questions it).

imo if people knew that wernt winning it wouldnt have still been 1.4 after 2f..but it looked iffy i concur.

When the Levy yield is dependent on bookmakers profits then a blind eye (by the Authorities) to favourites getting turned over by a few dodgy rides is to be expected.

Sad but true.

Re why wouldn't he stop a 1/3 shot, these are some lads that don't think in terms of consequences and would do anything for a few bob. Both rides were truly awful and he should get a ban.

In fairness to Daniel, that filly looked useless and I don't know where they were going with that Lowther entry. The Burke horse in the nursery didn't run great either, but that Magna Grecia must be the worst sire around.
