Bought a new computer ( windows 11 )    Old computer which I still use is windows 10.     On the new computer the Betfair pages quite often don't fully load  and sometimes goes back to the "Where is everyone? " page.  Also clicking on races on the left hand side sometimes doesn't work no matter how many times you click.   This happens with either browser I use  ( either Chrome or Edge )    Old computer works fine.  Same situation swapping ethernet ports and leads of the two computers.   Also  had Racing Post horse form  pop-ups on the new computer  occasionally  saying no internet on the new computer.    Doesn't happen with old computer.      Other sites work fine with the new computer and the live racing pics on here  work OK.

Dodgy network settings?

Check your IP address, netmask and default gateway and are they set up manually (with possible mistakes) or via dhcp from your router?

On the new machine, is Windows putting the network card to sleep to save electricity? Find your nic in device manager, click on properties and look under power saving (or something like that: I've not got 11 here).

thanks for the reply Ramruma but I'm not a "computer person" and understand little of that.   How do you check your IP address netmask and default gateway ?

I should add the guy from Lenovo has had remote control of the new computer ( not while I was on here !  and I have since deleted software/changed passwords )  and he found nothing wrong.

make sure your b2b integration wire isn't interfering with your VM Tanks if you're running Hyper-V

如果您正在运行 Hyper-V,请确保您的 B2B 集成线路不会干扰您的 VM Tank

If most websites work fine then I'd be looking first at what software might clash or block Betfair / Racing Post. What anti-virus software are you using? Often new machines come with a load of bloatware, including free trial of anti-virus like Norton. Make sure you've only got at most 1 anti-virus application running and then try temporarily disabling it to see if that is the issue.

Thanks GB. I wouldn't be surprised if you are on to something there.  Chrome did block the remote viewing site so we used Edge.  I did get a free trial period of Mcfee but that's finished. I will have a look to see what is there.

Looking   like I may have solved it.  Thought my McAfee had gone because the free days it said I had expired.  But it was still on. They keep you on longer than they say.  Thanks GB.

You do not need McAfee. Built in Windows Defender is sufficient

I use windows 11 with the Edge browser and have no problems with it using defender for security and the usual adblockers.

Rico I went into the windows security and put the McAfee ( which was still on )  to snooze. Last night for 20 minutes or so I didn't have any problems. Will have it on longer today.

You need to remove the McAfee.
By:

When: 14 Jun 24 09:52
Yes, remove McAfee. Windows 11 comes Windows Security and Microsoft Defender which are adequate for most users. Using an up-to-date browser also protects against most miscreant websites.

I mostly user Firefox with Adblock Plus, although MS Edge is a good nowadays (tabs on a left hand side vertical bar and favourites along top a horizontal bar, works for me).

When I say will have it on longer I mean the Betfair site while the racing is on. If the McAfee stays on snooze which it should do if you don't change it maybe that will be enough sparrow. Will see later.

McAfee is now considered a security flaw and recourse hog, as the software hooks into the system. Please uninstall.
