That was average on emily upjohn. Went way to fast on ground and kicked on as well 4f out in soft ground after a strong pace

the best horse lost today this is first high profile ride you can legit hammer him imo

completely outridden by a better jockey (with more track experience too)

Made the Fav pull out all the stops,easily beat the rest.
Done right near the line.

That was painful to watch even for non-supporters of Shoemark. What else could he have done? The eventual winner was going nowhere until the last 50 yards.

will look over sectionals later but RTV said race fastest sectional was emily on the turn in...so she hasn't been ridden efficiently, committed too early

they said the times showed he paced it ok, she pulls too hard, but if the winner hadn't quickened as well as she did, would have won nicely.

none of them paced it ok as was too steady early on but I'll look later

We're about to get some expert analysis on the Pretty Polly from 'The Captain' on The Verdict

Pretty much just said what's already out there, that from the 3 down to the 1 did a bit too much too soon and paid the price for that with a slower final furlong.

Lee on the barstewards podcast was critical saying KS should have had a look behind, where he would have seen BS being pushed along and with a bit of ground to make up, and therefore he could have just waited longer in front before kicking.

Imo KS was dealt a tough hand once she was caught wide and keen without cover and unable to get in, so he's done the right thing in allowing her to roll forward rather than being caught out in no-man's land three / four wide.

As for waiting in front up the straight, well if that didn't work either, then he's getting pelters for not kicking on. He couldn't win, could he?

In his defence, he's beat the rest comfortably and it took a good un to run him down.
