The replay shows that Alei Nao could have had a second wicket - that appeal for lbw was a good one but Papua New Guinea didn't appeal!

That's true ELG but always have to be careful of Duckworth Lewis falling in favour of the minnows , that ruling is in the lap of the gods sometimes although being a World Cup they have a decent amount of overlap.

Yoooo a couple more wickets and Windies will be reeling

it was like watching 20/20 cricket from 15 years ago. It was ambling the singles and the dot balls which were odd

There shouldn't have been any scoring rate pressure though chasing that way at 7 an over , correct way to chase probably if you're the Windies and concentrate on keeping some decent wickets intact for the business end , if that was Australia chasing though they can't play that way and would look to chase it down in 13-14 overs.
Windies not a great team and are the nearest " big name " to a minnow in my view also it's the opening game of a World Cup group and all that matters is the W however cautious you need to be. |

millions done @ 1.01 1.02 after 5 overs...nowts ever simple.

Namibia had an incredible final over meltdown vs Oman. They only needed 110 but completely sh*t themselves.
Somehow finished in a draw and they won it in the super over. One of these teams will surly cause a shock imo Next one is Uganda when they take on the Taliban. |

By:
i will be abstaining..rather lay a horse @100.

By:
As they say Rico horses for courses!

Incredible stuff in the Namibia game , hope anyone else laying basement prices remembered to back the tie at huge odds near the back end to protect the green , if not then why not it's standard laying practice under exchange ruling.
|
|
By:
no draw prices on bf

If it's a tie all bets void , so when a big green keep an eye on the tie at the back end and cover with a lay if you think appropriate , otherwise the green evaporates.
With all the multi millions matched on Cricket any serious punter will know all that anyway and the tie market was 7 figures as it usually is when a game looks as if it'll go to the wire. They have a tie included market but the liquidity sometimes has gaps in-play and currently it's £276k vs £177 for todays game and you'd have to fiddle about with laying your team anyway so i prefer the two-way market. |

Decent example today regarding the dangers of rain affected when backing shorties in limited format , England go off at 1.04 but matched at 1.5 without facing a ball , on and off for rain and Duckworth Lewis added 19 runs to the potential chase , different if punting a big outsider as the levelling nature of rain affected may land in your favour and at the price worth the risk.
Rained off and void anyway in the end but a reminder to check the weather before punting in this sport. |
