As Stewarts says, just par for the course at that track. Just got back from 2 days there and that was the "get out" bet. As with any losing ride, had he done something different, he'd have won. But that is not to say it was a bad ride. In a small field, he was entitled to assume he would get a run at some stage but....hey ho. Cost me a packet but I still rate TM. Losses only lent on that horse. Whatever he runs in at Royal Ascot, I'll be going in again to recover and win.

Jocks love Goodwood because they have ready made excuses - see above. You will hear the same thoughts trotted out time and again. With a clear run he would likely have won very easily. Did he need to be saving lengths. A good ride is one that reduces luck to a minimum. That's in any race, and includes Goodwood.
