Time for change hopefully. Since 2010 this country has been systematically stripped of all decency, resilience and morals.

We've stood back and watched those in power pilfer from under our noses and run roughshod over covid rules designed to protect everybody.

Those in power have laughed at every single honest, hard working person in the country. Nobody, regardless of their political leanings can honestly say otherwise.

A vitally important question remains if those parties in opposition are fit for purpose either. What a mess this country is in.

Agree all as bad as each other but it definitely ain't getting better under more Conservative rule.

Theres too many taking out of the pot in benefits compared to what I and millions others pay in. There's generation/s who have decided that it's no longer attractive to work and financially they're as well sitting at home on benefits watching daytime TV. However you dress that up and explain it away, that just can't be acceptable or sustainable.

Of course there'll be people who medically can't work, that's who the system should support but I'm afraid there's as many who are just existing on handouts without contributing a penny. That's a massive problem as I see it, regardless of who's in power the countries finances just don't balance.

Sounds like Somerset Sam rather enjoyed being locked in his home for 23 hours a day, being forced to wear a face nappy and being scared sh*tless by an utterly complicit mainstream media for a winter / spring respiratory disease they rebranded "Covid" which had a 99.8% survival rate.

Did it never occur to you "SS" that the reason they ran "roughshod over the rules" they implemented - driving up north to test one's eyesight, shagging mistresses, having parties, going to one's second home and mingling with the locals, etc - was because they knew it was bullsh*t?

All todays problems can be traced back to the two Scots Blair and Brown, and of course it was deliberate. Unfortunately, Cameron and Theresa May were both absolute disasters as PM,s and had no intention whatsoever of righting the wrongs of Blair/Browns devastating Labour policies, Brown even sold all our Gold reserves and sqaundered the lot. If anything Theresa May made matters considerably worse with her woke liberal progressive nonsense. May was just a liar of biblical proportions, she done everything she could to keep us in the EU while stating get brexit done at every opportunity, she had a vendatta against the police as she claimed stop and search was racist, she shut hundreds of police stations and cut police numbers, being the daughter of a vicar we probably shouldnt have expected anything else. The British public, or should I say the English public, gave Boris a huge mandate to get Brexit done, leave the ECHR, and massively reduce immigration, he had three jobs to do and he failed miserably on all of them, he even wanted to give 3 million illegal immigrants amnesty and a free ride. I could write a book on the damage Blair/Brwon done to this once great nation, and the Conservatives have quite frankly been pitiful, Sunak is as big a traitor as Theresa May, Blair and Brown. The UK is in terminal decline, there is no coming back from the current situation, Blairs open door mass immigration policies have destroyed our nation, we are finished and its only going to get worse back under a Labour government. Rant Over.

If the end is inevitable I think it's always best to get it over and done with; no point prolonging the inevitable. This is akin to someone with a debilitating terminal illness.

However, even if I do not vote Conservative I'd vote tactically to frustrate Labour winning, why? I do not want to see UK Plc degenerating into a divided nation like some countries in the Middle East and Africa where a certain group rules the North and another South in the same country.

It's happening in the UK Plc at present, and I believe this will be expedited if Labour wins with a majority as the Islamists and extremists will hold sway the future direction of Labour and UK Plc.
Report BostonRover May 23, 2024 4:02 PM BST
Problem seems to me that we don't produce that many great statesman and you certainly don't get one every generation. Boris turned out to be a fraud and Corbyn a poor man's Boris (3 wives, a few kids and poor choice of mistress) who was lukewarm towards the EC and gets away very lightly for his part in Brexit. David Milliband may possibly have been better material but the unions undermined him and we've ended up with Kier, who is basically a high ranking civil servant and as boring as you'd expect. Personally going to vote for the cabbage party even though I know it's a waste.
Report sparrow May 23, 2024 4:15 PM BST
Agree with much of what you say there Boston.  There's no doubt that Corbyn was a disaster regarding Brexit although he was always hostile to the EU and as a result of the party policy kept his mouth shut instead of supporting his party.

So, this election are we voting for our country to remain British and not run by immigrants with a political agenda to turn UK Plc into an extension of countries of their origin, and illegals? I trust the Conservatives with the Economy and Law and Order.

The NHS is overpopulated with users that money cannot resolve successfully on its own; its culture and practice need to change. I believe a 2-tier NHS is inevitable and necessary.

Law and order must be that, and not "expanded" to social eg police officers and mental services.
Report breadnbutter May 23, 2024 5:34 PM BST
I don't know the correct price for NOC but I would lay 2/1.

You mean NOM?

I am referrering to the election prices on that board what even one it was, are you?

You would lay a price bigger than the conservative price of 7/4 when NOM should be nearer evens.

Strange statement, you don't know but you woukd lay, without knowing the exact year it's slightly difficult but that much. No wizard of prices but 2/1 would looks massive
Report breadnbutter May 23, 2024 5:37 PM BST

"I trust the Conservatives"

Four words I honestly thought would never be seen together in a sentence. What about the handing out of government contracts do they still get trusted with that too?

Honestly, if they told me what day it was, I'd still go and check. They're all as bad as each other but I just think the level of lying in public office and repeatedly showing untrustworthy behaviour as seen by this Conservative government will definitely take some beating.

If people are inept, indecisive, ineffective or ultimately budgets don't add up to begin with you can say it'll happen and try to fix it. I can't accept those in power actually being driven by their own greed, that of their associates and it being proven repeatedly that a growing number are corrupt and rotten to the core.

If you vote them back in, nothing will change. That should send a shiver down every person in this country.
Report impossible123 May 23, 2024 6:01 PM BST

Report breadnbutter May 23, 2024 6:53 PM BST
Sparrow it's an overall majority not control, that's a diff thing, it's a Working Majority although that is not ideal either, a Hung parliment is prob better, Labour could win most seats but the Conservatives with the Help of others could form the gov, likewise you could have a Labour  minority gov.

But eye no what u meen.

I might vote Reform if a vote for The Conservatives is a wasted vote eg The Tories coming in a distant 2nd; Reform could leapfrog them into 2nd. This is a protest vote against Sir Starmer and his impotence against Islamists and extremists in his Party.
