it wasnt murder unless it was premeditated, which is unlikely
Report Early Morning Riser May 21, 2024 2:36 PM BST
Total Ban needed, they are bred to kill.
Report s.kenbo May 21, 2024 3:22 PM BST
Better the owner savaged to death rather than some innocent bystander.

There’s loads of lovely dogs out there that wouldn’t bite the hand that feeds it.
Report s.kenbo May 21, 2024 3:24 PM BST
I walk my dog three or four times a day. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen an XL Bully on my travels.
Report elise May 21, 2024 3:28 PM BST
you have to leave your lounge kenbo

A very good friend has one from a pup; she paid over £4k during Covid. But, her parents, sister and niece will not visit. Now, the XL bully is an adult - no family member visits. I've only seen him on her mobile hooked up to a remote home security camera 3 years ago.

No point arresting these dogs for murder, would just be "ro romment!"

Fecking owners
Report differentdrum May 21, 2024 5:12 PM BST
Why would you have one? There's nothing remotely nice about them. It's like owning a weapon. All the attention on this breed, but there are plenty of others you could look at in the same way.
Report DIE LINKE May 21, 2024 5:16 PM BST
When the old bill come knocking at 4am, they keep them occupied while you get shot of the substances.
Report impossible123 May 21, 2024 5:52 PM BST
It looks really cute as a puppy much like a French bulldog. It's the damage and strength of its viciousness it's capable of that's the problem.

I do agree, there's no need to have one as a pet dog. I'd like to know the psychology of people - apart from the dodgy ones - an American XL bully is chosen as a pet dog.
Report Dr Crippen May 21, 2024 6:06 PM BST
They don't do anything about dangerous dogs until one kills. This is England where nobody in public service does any work..

If they pass a new law they don't enforce it, unless it's an easy to fine motoring offence.
Report Dr Crippen May 21, 2024 6:10 PM BST
I could mention what to do about a dangerous dog, but the leftie mods on here would ban me.
Report differentdrum May 21, 2024 7:05 PM BST
You could say almost anything looks cute, until it doesn't. As for french bulldogs they are just a ball of muscle.
Report layemall May 21, 2024 7:22 PM BST
How anyone would think that they are safe to have around children for example is beyond me. Seen as an extension of their penis or clitoris by these thickos no doubt....oh but they're lovely dogs really and wouldn't hurt a fly... hucking morons, who I would hazard a guess, are mostly hucking criminals as well.  Ooooooh, controversial Laugh

I have recently witnessed at first hand 2 Greyhounds that were let off the lead on a coastal path and drove a ewe and a lamb into the sea. Fortunately another passer by rescued them but the dog owner (a woman) legged it. We urgently need dog licences back and mandatory euthanasia for any dog that injures a human being or any domestic livestock. And large fines for leaving dog mess on public paths which has become the norm.
Report themightymac May 23, 2024 3:23 AM BST
I think the current fine of £75 for owners not lifting the dogs mess is adequate. Majority of owners are responsible and lift it all the time.
Report sageform May 23, 2024 8:32 AM BST
10% of 10 million owners is one million irresponsible owners who don't pick it up. And the fine is irrelevant as hardly anyone is caught. I walk a lot on coastal paths and in wildlife reserves that allow dogs and you need one eye on the ground all the time to avoid stepping in dog mess.

How many of the alleged million actually poo on your walks sage? As it happens I know what you mean tbf, our recent visit to the UK backs up your views. We brought both of our dogs and walked them in different areas including coastal Suffolk. What was noticeable was the lack of bins to dispose of poo bags and worse than poo on the ground was poo bags discarded on obviously busy paths, more of a hazard than the poo itself.

A licence fee could partly be used to fund bins etc and keep track of these dangerous dogs as few of them are likely to be chipped, huge fines could be imposed for having neither on banned breeds although they would still have to be identified, seizure of the animal could be mandatory without waiting for the ridiculous DNA / breed tests?
