Not jockey bashing, trainer bashing as well. Racing is a team effort so you can't criticise the jockey in isolation. If horses misbehave on course, it is likely to be down to the home gallops.

Gosden is grade one in the training ranks Shoemark is not grade one in the jockey ranks…… Wait until I speak to my bin probably get more sense….. I did say at the start of the season he wasn’t the proper person for the grade 1 yard…….ffs |

They don't like to blame trainers on here for anything it will always be the fault of jockeys or stall handlers. They prefer to doff their caps. |

Was expecting Goodwood Odyssey to be ridden cold as in all of his previous races but he rushed him right up behind a fierce gallop.

World Pool had it nearer the mark that UK punters. Both of the first 2 in the market were 7/2 on there. I sat on my hands so no damage. Can't explain the winner but second and third had fitness on their side.

but he was all over the track on fav there, and too far back - you cant give Group horses lengths of a start, mind you most of the other jockeys just as bad! |

Audience was still on the snaff 3-4 lengths up when everything else was under the pump. How does that happen if they gave him too much of a head start?
Yes obviously horses can be allowed too easy a lead, but that ends up with lots of fast finishing closers. Only one of them got anywhere near, and the winner wasn't hard ridden at any point. |

Had you bothered to listen to JG in the run up to the race you would have known the plan Quixall and if you had listened Post Race you would have been even wiser, ironic your "workrider in silks" won the race? |

Plenty of people thought the front two in the Lockinge betting were taking too much of the market and Inspiral ended a short priced favourite by default as confidence in the market rival collapsed.
From Gosden'e pre race remarks to Chapman (sic) "You don't want your runners in a little race of their own", I gather Shoemark was under instructions to tack over to the main body while Authorised ploughed a lone furrow. All in all, I pretty rubbish Gp1 though. Older milers are a weak division. |

Audience is borderline uncontrollable and Inspiral tends to be sluggish out of the gate, so he would have been isolated anyway if keeping to the part of the track where he was drawn. It wasn't winning any group 1 race today anyway, whether it has peaked and had enough, or it was a stepping stone for Ascot remains to be seen.

JG said before today that being drawn away from the pace was no good to Inspiral and indicated she might be switched across the track to where the pace was, today he said Audience would more or less do his own thing as he was not sure whether he would keep pace with Big Rock. Tbh anyone backing the front two Post interviews with either trainer needed to be locked up for their own safety!!!

Gosden was delighted with Inspirals run. it was 4th beaten 13 lengths. To be happy with that he must have known it was about 25% fit. I'm not sure anyone backing it at 2/1 fav for the big race on a Saturday would be equally delighted with the run.

With the retirement of Ace Impact, the implosion of City Of Troy in the 2000G, the wishy-washy performances of the 3 yr olds colts and fillies, and the much of a muchness bunch of seniors including Auguste Rodin this season could be the season to forget even at this early stage.
