From riding horses as it's dangerous to the horses and sometimes they get injured?

the people who want horse racing banned would most definitely want keeping cavalry horses banned, so a pretty pointless argument.
Report CagliariG April 26, 2024 12:21 PM BST
They should be banned from riding in households stew, too many hazards like coffee tables and stairs etc!!  Good catch btw if it was what you intended. lol

'acey', I believe The Royal Family brings in more money esp Buckingham Palace, Changing of The Guard and ceremonial processions. Buckingham Palace is iconic, and if opened to the public in the same manner as Windsor Palace it will become the main attraction for any foreign visitors including our "cousins" from the North. This entity is unique in the world, and a major draw and envy of its counterparts in the world.

I'm not an ardent Royalist, but I'd like to see the Royal Family to carry on being the symbol of UK Plc.

Well, Tommy Cooper served seven years in the Horse Guards so it is probably surprising that it hasn't happened before.
Report sageform April 26, 2024 2:24 PM BST
One mishap and ban it? That is the modern woke world but the Royal Family certainly would not support it and the King has to sign every piece of legislation.

Just a comment on the unfortunate accident this week, but withy Animal Rising being all over Horse racing and the Dogs, just wondered if they'd be objecting to the use of horses by the Army and Police as the horses don't have a choice.
I vividly recall the carnage caused by the IRA when they blew up the horses years ago, awful. Horses in modern traffic looks far more dangerous than horses jumping a few fences.

LOL stew, never realised you were serious tbf but quite a catch with Impossible and sage obviously living in a different century to the rest of us!!
Report sageform April 26, 2024 3:01 PM BST
I knew it was tongue in cheek but some people will no doubt be campaigning for mounted soldiers and police to be banned.

What happened with the Horse Guard horses? I understood a few horses got loose and ran in some streets in London. But, it did not spook my curiosity sufficiently to want to read the article though.
Report CagliariG April 26, 2024 4:43 PM BST
It was all false reporting Impossible, no soldiers or military horses. All to cover up the City Racing experiment planned for the summer!!
Report FOYLESWAR April 26, 2024 7:00 PM BST
who cleans up all the horse sh it in the household?
Report impossible123 April 26, 2024 7:03 PM BST
King Charles and Prince William, I believe, on a weekly rotational basis.
Report FOYLESWAR April 26, 2024 7:16 PM BST
good to know they are keeping their  hands in so to speak.
Report impossible123 April 26, 2024 7:45 PM BST
If not DWP could send some of the mega unemployed brigade for the task. I'm sure this will act as an incentive to get their hands "dirty" again.

Cant beat a Sunday carvery.

Crying shame to ban it.

A chicken just isnt the same.

Horses are the greatest animals on this planet, followed by cows and pigs.

The BBC are conditioning you with this whole story, horses get spooked every day and crap happens. After the original story of the incident the BBC have followed the story up with 3 more reports, usually they give up after the original hit.

Horses are iconic in the history of Britain, very disappointed by acey.

I visited Legoland (Beaconsfield) about 40 odd years ago. Similarly, Windsor Safari Park. Is the latter still around?
