Amazing how facts and honesty sends the fantasists and liars into a frenzy and panic?

I can’t believe nothing kicked on 3 out. Everything was held together and 20 had a chance 2 out.

Red Marauder in the swamp was the greatest national spectacle I've seen.

Guaranteed to have been abandoned in today's world.

It would take something very special to beat the Crisp/Red Rum race.

Nobody wants to see horses get hurt but the thing is there is no jeopardy in races over the National course anymore - and that to me makes them far less interesting.
Races on the Mildmay course are much more interesting, though no doubt they will start to make those fences much easier as well like Cheltenham have done in recent years.

In the past there was the hope the horse that was going much better than yours might blunder or fall or get brought down etc (Clan Royal anyone?). Now you can call the winner after 3 fences.Cry

I watched the replay of yesterdays race, then went on YouTube straight after and watched red marauders grand National from 2001. I got to admit, the red marauder one was way more exciting than what happened yesterday. I watched Minnehomas one from 1994 too. That was also way better.

As said above, nobody wants injuries, but the carnage was part of what made it a great race, imo.

Times have changed 'BoosterRooster'. I remember some shops punters cheered when the leader fell at the last when they were on the 2nd.

The Grand National is only a glorified handicap now no matter how hard the bookies' pundits try to spin it. The Grand National has lost its uniqueness, its reputation and kudos as the most difficult horse race over sticks. But, it's still fun for some esp once-a-year-punters.

The best bit in F1 is the dash to the 1st bend at the start. Then the wheel-to-wheel sabre-rattling and overtaking. Even this is negated by the DRS somewhat these days.

But, F1 is terribly boring now given Newey (Red Bull) who's head-and-shoulders above all the other car designers and down force experts in the game; the driver is lesser important eg Vettel.
