trying to figure what we were seeing where the lay price is lower than the back price, on a number of those still running the lay price was incorrect but if you set higher than the back price you could match a price that wasn't in the first box

Betfair / PP do not get involved with in play markets and do not have any software to skim markets, it is 100% peer to peer *COUGH*
if you dig around on Youtube you'll see Betfair admitting they outsource their trading (on their own markets) to a third party. meant to be to seed the markets, do you think that's all they do ??? nah. |

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this, the trading and technical team are running an investigation so for the time being we do not have any further information to provide. - Timothy |

Start investigation on Dundalk 520

Thank you for your patience, the trading team have come back stating that they are aware that we had some display issues with the pricing for the Grand National on the Exchange. This is currently being investigated further by the technical team. In the meantime, we apologise for the inconvenience caused. - Timothy
4:44 PM so why has the market been settled? simply wrong at every level. |
By:
They will ride it out knowing that eventually all the noise will die down and we just accept it. With nothing else really out there, that's the bottom line and they know that.

Partly true duffy - but as we can see from liquidity they do still lose customers eventually...
By:
If they end up with just a 'bookies' - GL with that one...

They should cancel all in running and reimburse any money that was lost on the National as their site is not fit for purpose. They make millions every day so it would be a drop in the ocean.

so we had maximus that was not able to be backed if you clicked the blue box..but bets settled.
By:
it could be backed but not at the ods showing until it went 101

but bets settled.

yes, , obv api was seeing false numbers, not completely sure if also same on main site, but in effect we're seeing ghost numbers and it's a cache issue, or a cross match issue
By:
the problem only exists on that race, so it's a specific they did, maybe turned something off(?) and it produced a visual issue, with the real prices still there but not in the first pink or blue box
By:
it was the same on the main site elise

cheers andriy, which points more towards something like cross matching fakery with the real backs and lays not in the first box on either side (although not all), so eg when mahler mission fell there was a large amount to lay between 27 and 100 and that money was matched even tho it was in the first pink box

Seen numerous examples recently of the same price to back and lay on football markets. Is usually rectified after a few minutes but makes you wonder if there is is a glitch with their interfaces or something more sinister is afoot.

its 99.99 certain this ir market will be void, i wanted to back the winner when showing around10 to back and 8 to lay, ( like flukes says this happens often in soccer), so i actually put a back bet on 7 which got matched, i fully expect it to be voided , so to cover myself i backed the winner with daq at 6, only small money,
By:
^^^
Surely would have been voided by now if it was going to be? |
By:
wont be voided now.

There are so many unfair situations on Betfair (the in-house bots, ridiculous reduction factors, late non-runners, in-running time issues to name just a few) I think we just have to accept it (what's the alternative?) and take the rough with the smooth.
By:
Ir voided at 9pm. Good luck with that
By:
3 million available to back Kolkata at 1.3 inplay
By:
Brian, yes and no - see my posts yesterday above for way it's going if they are not careful.
By:
It is going that way Stu but I don't think PP cares as long Betfair remains by fair the main exchange and thus deterring significant competitors
