He turned over a couple of his dad`s odds on favs at the weekend to sink punters.
Now he has just been well gubbed with a 1 to 4 shot Soul of Spain at Gowran.

Like DD states you need to be in the know and then you might win but as an outsider looking in and going strictly on form and betting, you can`t possibly win.

Same here 'themightymac'. I cannot be bothered anymore; the grey market is neither an option nor an attraction for this recreational hobby. This will be as soon as if City Of Troy bombs badly.

Nappy clearly been bought by the bookies. Its plain for all to see if you study the results. But hey just carry on. If you're name is mullins o'brien or Walsh in Ireland continue on. Nothing is ever seen.

Very useful advice sparrow considering I said you don't know what his horses are going to do.
TMM, it has become increasingly difficult. It has got to a stage where I am happy to just hang on a profit rather than expect to win anything substantial. I had my first three flat bets on Saturday - Alkasib, Relief Rally and Son - and after that I am not expecting my next one to be anytime soon. Alkasib was little more than schooling in public by Doyle, Relief Rally despite being well punted late was woeful, and of course Hannon left his winners behind on Friday, and the well punted Son was pipped for third under a weak ride. You get a distorted view on here as I get the impression most wait for the race to start before placing a bet.
It's not just racing that's difficult. Look at the snooker, favourites falling over themselves to get beat.

differentdrum 23 Apr 24 19:59 Yes, the 19.14 post that makes no sense at all.
What makes no sense is you worrying about odds on shots continually being beaten. Back something else, lay them or ignore the race.

You don`t need to be Einstein to conclude that a 1/4 has more chance of winning than losing. So why would one lay a 1/4 pre race if one thinks it will likely win or bet something to beat it?
But, if one had inside info and the yard thought it would badly need the run, then one would obviously lay it.

This is a regular occurrence every season. I believe there was a race last season where he had two runners ie an odds-on shot that drifted, the backed runner from double digit to single digit. Ironically, the backed runner (a stayer) was gifted an easy long lead; the hotpot seemingly happy to sit amongst the chasing pack.
The backed runner was never headed or challenged, and coasted home. I do not believe the running/betting market were referred to the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB). A similar scenario concerning a smaller stable resulted not only a reference to IHRB bit it also took over 3 years to complete.
In Ireland it seems despite a blatant "injudicious" riding and running of horses from the same stable and betting market evidence a high profiled big stable trainer in Ireland would not be referred to IHRB for further investigation. Even if it did eg Mr Geraghty's 30-day suspension on Noble Emperor (JP McManus's owned) was rescinded because of the impending Punchestown Festival.

Aiden and his sons with 6 once raced horses in a maiden
Good luck finding the winner
Maybe they ain't betting and running them to gain information, at times.

One line of form from last season. Heavy going. 1/4.
Unless you have seen it in the paddock and it looked as fit as a flea (unlikely, first run back), How can you back it?

I personally dont think family members should be able to have runners in the same race......too often 3 members of the same family have runners in same race and the fav gets well beat....coincidence.....perhaps....i hope so

Unsurprisingly very slow times on the heavy ground last night but Soul Of Spain's race was especially slow, over five seconds slower than the preceding 0-72 handicap, backing up the visual impression that they had absolutely crawled, so if a two-furlong sprint on bad ground was no good to him, it might not be the race to judge him by.
Yup, no sh*t, Sherlock.

Odds on shorties beaten stupid. Including 2 at 1-4 and 8-15. However one wins by 4 lengths drifting from 9-4 to 10-3. A nasty little nappy *****. O'hehir "napped" the 1-4 shot so that one's demise was no shock.
