Possibly the 1st time I've ever defended a bookie but I opened an account with these in Dec..approx 800 up, no problems getting paid on any bets or any silly ID checks.

Didn't use them for Cheltenham so can't comment on how they did that week.

Seemed Ok to me For Cheltenham , but I didnt win anything so didnt come across payout Problems on the free bets

there's something not quite right about the fact nobody involved has tried to draw a clear line between traditional betting (horses, dogs, football, tennis, rugby etc) which has been on the go legally since the 1960's under the auspices of gamblers anonymous - and this new fkng horrible crack

Why do they not ask for proof of identity to deposit and deposit and lose and lose but when you win and try to make a withdrawal they ask for more documents than you can think of.

No need to validate your account if you deposit and lose, only when you try to withdraw.

I've had an account with them for a dew months with no problems.
I backed Teauptoo and that settled ok.
Having had accounts shut down or heavily restricted with most firms it's useful to have a functional account as the prices on here aren't always the best on here.
I'd imagine there were a fair few opportunists setting up accounts for Cheltenham as their bonuses were overly generous, the results weren't bookie friendly either.
Hardly surprising they shut some accounts.
I would agree the site is poorly laid out and they do seem to try to hook casino/slots addicts.

I opened an account for the Cheltenham offers and I have had no problems with settlements or withdrawing (£180 more than I deposited so far) all transactions via debit card.
The Cheltenham new account 6x £10 free bets and 1st race £20 free bets each day for all customers were excellent as were the daily enhanced prices bonus (up to 100%) which could be applied on any horse over Cheltenham.
The prices offered were fair and mostly better than Skybet & Betfair Sports.
The negatives are the site layout, the need to be vigilant to ensure bonuses are available to be applied and the fact that predictably it crashed on Tue shortly before the 1st race until after the Champion Hurdle and was very slow on Gold Cup day.

I do agree that the business model might be designed to convert sports punters into Casino addicts and therefore not suitable to anybody lacking rock solid discipline.

The bookies are no different; the loss leader is horseracing, fobt or crack cocaine is the guaranteed winner. But, the loss leader will be severely restricted or unavailable to some or most.

As such, the bookies will not want to separate horseracing and fobt (crack cocaine) citing this will affect horseracing levy, jobs, etc. A little bit of something good is still better than none at all of something good.

A radical reorganisation of betting and gaming sector led by a regulator with teeth (power) and knowledge but not by bookies is a must. The regulator must tell the bookies their policies must be adhered to (no further negotiation); dissenting bookies can leave the betting/gaming sector, and bar for 10 years (if so).

Return horseracing or any sport to their own community, supporters and players; fobt (crack cocaine) regulated sunder an entirely different set of policies and Gaming Act.
