"so in other words the jocks/trainers plan was to let an odds on fav be hostage to fortune to every other jocks /trainers plans in the race, seems sensible tactics, NOT"  Thing is they want to win but if connections haven't backed it  or even if they have the main concern is to educate an inexperienced horse get it to settle and learn from the race and have a better horse going forward. Punters should realise this happens with lightly raced horses and perhaps not take the worst price it's ever been.

he wasnt just held up ,it was exagerated hold up ride ,reflecting his odds.chances behind the ambulance etc, could have held him been closer to pace to adapt to a race with no pace,if he,s a hot fav in future other jocks.trainers arnt going to serve  up the circumstances he wants on a plate

To try and simplify, if that horse was trying it was possibly the worse ride I have seen for a good few seasons, if it wasnt then the jockey done his job.

He was stepping up from 7f to 1m2f. And yes he's not a top jock. Connections don't care if their horse is odds-on punters that are on at that price do. The other angle is they thought it was so superior that they could give priority to educate let the others pinch some distance and still win.  Bottom line is they have a horse for future races and punters have lost money. They don't care. But non trier BS imo.

not sure many on here have said non trier....most think was just a very poor ride....and yes Howard...anyone can have an opinion....even people who have never sat on a horse yet alone been a workrider. You seem intent on attempting (and failing) to wind people upSad

And of course the lad rides a tidy treble at Wolves this evening....just the "Best System
Ever" doing it's thing.

Jockeys trade in their brains for a riding licence , no one said they are clever . Most can ride horses , but are clueless when it comes to judging races Laugh. Armchair pundits know a great deal to how a race should be ridden to how these jockeys ride them ! They have much more experience . More jockeys need to watch racing as well as ride . They would learn so much more imo.
