I saw it hit 5 with £34 available, 1 sec after it's stumble. Obvs a manual trader with a twitchy finger who was expecting a fall. I was lucky enough to get a small piece.

On the drone pictures, or live at the track with the right angle, it's much easier to spot a potentially risky jump on take-off. I'm sure there will be some people laying potential fallers at the last before a horse has even crossed the fence.

how could you mean to lay at 1.5 and actually lay at 10 jamee ?
i'm not saying it doesn't happen...
just wondering what procedure they use to make such a mistake ?

i am asking jamee how someone could mean to offer 1.5 but mistakenly offer 10 (his example) ?
yes i know that Mr.Hunt...it's the reason i put 7.6 in the thread title...i am asking jamee how someone could mean to offer 1.5 but mistakenly offer 10 (his example) ?
If I was doing this then I would have several lay button options ready to hit based on how I judged the risk of a fall.
eg: lay £x up to 1.05, lay £x up to 1.1,lay £x up to 1.2, lay £x up to 1.5 etc etc.
They could have misjudged risk and hit the wrong button.
Or they could just have one button that lays up to a much bigger price than they would normally expect to reach, and got hit by a freak of the market at that moment. eg they could have laid £x up to 10.0 and normally would only get matched out to 1.2, but this time it went up to 7.6 because there was less available to match at that moment.

That's because you're picking up all the pennies up to 1000 and there's hardly any volume.
A horse clear and approaching the last will have hundreds, possibly thousands available to be laid below 2.0. You could easily lay a few hundred at 10.0 and almost always will get it all matched below even money.

...assuming that it doesn't fall of course. If it actually falls then offers will swiftly be cancelled, the price will shoot out, and the 10.0 might not even get fully matched.

Someone hit bigger than they wanted to (volume and/or price). Or a quirk of the market meant there was less volume than they expected waiting at that moment.
I think overall you generally underestimate the power of the cancellation and its impact on market movement. A whole second advantage over anyone looking to take what's there. When a price moves out, is it because it's being taken, or because it's being cancelled?

did you see the gaps and little amounts done up to 7.6? i will repeat..the bot analyses your request and maximises best return for the house..its a fine cistern.

personally i think there is a bit of truth in both angles...
i think someone hit 7.6 (thinking it was a goner)...
some folk cancelled thinking it was a goner...
the layer didn't get the liquidity they wanted and when they thought they'd get matched at very short prices it went all the way out to 7.6 (bearing in mind peanuts were matched at 7.6 not their whole lay i would suggest)...
7.6 is probably what they always hit when the see a 'faller' (only this time it didn't fall)...
so i actually think you are BOTH right tbh.

does make me wonder how fast their pics are and how much of an in running delay they have when they pop in 7.6 for a faller tbh...
considering the cancellers only have a 0.2 sec delay.

therefore the person who wants to lay at 7.6 must have a good advantage imv...
if you know folk will lay at 1000 for hundreds...
to lay at 7.6 you must KNOW you have a good advantage over them or you would go 1000 yourself...
obviously you will poo poo that (so there is no need to).

thought you said that was a thing of the past mr.Hunt ?
track has advantage over drone..------------------------------------oh so you now admit folk play at the track ?thought you said that was a thing of the past mr.Hunt ?
before people went on track i know people from the office i was in,one went to track and calling faller via mobile phone often got thousands on a faller.

when i was looking at a 'new' pc i remember you giving me some decent advice on it...
just a quick Q...
happy with the 'new' pc (the SSD is much faster) but...
it's still a bit annoying i can't get the telly to work for audio...
so i was thinking is it possible to simply switch the SSD from my 'new' pc in to my old pc (which is an HDMI to HDMI connection and it plays the audio through the telly) ?
thank you.

Probably, but depends on your internal connections. It seems a little 'sledgehammer' to swap storage into a lesser-specced PC just to get audio working. Did you try the cable/adapter Mr Flaps recommended?

What other connections do you have on your PC? If you have a headphone socket for example you can probably connect that to your TV or just connect up some cheap PC speakers directly.
I don't know anything about SSD compatibility. What other connections do you have on your PC? If you have a headphone socket for example you can probably connect that to your TV or just connect up some cheap PC speakers directly.

yes but you'd need someone from a pc shop to ghost your data from the old hd to the ssd.

new pc has one of those funny connectors (name i forget but it's similar to an hdmi with one of it's corners cut off and it has more pins)...
telly has hdmi so i connected an hdmi to (one of those funny connectors) cable to the new pc...
video fine...
no audio...
therefore to get audio i connected a pair of speakers which is fine but i would prefer the pc to telly audio to work.

ahh aye display port cable..display port can carry multi channel digital audio and video signals simultaneously although it isn't always implemented by device manufacturers..glue to small spaeaker to back of tele..easier option imo.

Check the Device status in the Device Manager. The yellow exclamation mark provides an indication of a device's current status and could mean that there is a system resource conflict, a driver issue, or any number of other things. Refer to these steps to open Device Manager.
1. Press Windows and X keys together.
2. Click on Device Manager.
3. Expand Sound, video and game controller.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:
a. Right click on the speaker icon which is on the bottom right corner.
b. Click on playback devices.
c. under playback tab highlight speakers\headphones
d. then Click on properties
e. select Advanced tab
f. then Click on Restore to default

i went through that stuff previously and it didn't happen Mr.Hunt...
i've no idea why the display port to hdmi cable isn't allowing audio tbh...
i will upgrade pc at some point and make sure it's an SSD drive and it has an HDMI connection instead of the Display Port nonsense.
