I could see people playing 'spot the faller' at the final fence. Would probably be worth it to sit there every race and hit one every few visits.

Must have been so much easy money for early adopters in the noughties. I was too busy building a proper career like a loser. Cry

jamee / Mr.Hunt...

when i was looking at a 'new' pc i remember you giving me some decent advice on it...

just a quick Q...

happy with the 'new' pc (the SSD is much faster) but...

it's still a bit annoying i can't get the telly to work for audio...

so i was thinking is it possible to simply switch the SSD from my 'new' pc in to my old pc (which is an HDMI to HDMI connection and it plays the audio through the telly) ?

thank you.

Probably, but depends on your internal connections. It seems a little 'sledgehammer' to swap storage into a lesser-specced PC just to get audio working. Did you try the cable/adapter Mr Flaps recommended?

yes jamee...

no good...

i will just keep it as it is then until i get round to getting another 'new' pc...

ta.

I don't know anything about SSD compatibility.

What other connections do you have on your PC? If you have a headphone socket for example you can probably connect that to your TV or just connect up some cheap PC speakers directly.

i did just connect speakers to the pc jamee...

i'd prefer it through the telly tbh...

anyway thanx.

yes but you'd need someone from a pc shop to ghost your data from the old hd to the ssd.

remind me..at present the new pc is connected to the tele via hdmi but no sound from tele?

new pc has one of those funny connectors (name i forget but it's similar to an hdmi with one of it's corners cut off and it has more pins)...

telly has hdmi so i connected an hdmi to (one of those funny connectors) cable to the new pc...

video fine...

no audio...

therefore to get audio i connected a pair of speakers which is fine but i would prefer the pc to telly audio to work.

ahh aye display port cable..display port can carry multi channel digital audio and video signals simultaneously although it isn't always implemented by device manufacturers..glue to small spaeaker to back of tele..easier option imo.

could be outdated or incompatible graphics drivers.

Check the Device status in the Device Manager. The yellow exclamation mark provides an indication of a device's current status and could mean that there is a system resource conflict, a driver issue, or any number of other things. Refer to these steps to open Device Manager.

1. Press Windows and X keys together.

2. Click on Device Manager.

3. Expand Sound, video and game controller.

I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:

a. Right click on the speaker icon which is on the bottom right corner.

b. Click on playback devices.

c. under playback tab highlight speakers\headphones

d. then Click on properties

e. select Advanced tab

f. then Click on Restore to default

i went through that stuff previously and it didn't happen Mr.Hunt...

i've no idea why the display port to hdmi cable isn't allowing audio tbh...

i will upgrade pc at some point and make sure it's an SSD drive and it has an HDMI connection instead of the Display Port nonsense.

i will also explore the possibility of popping an SSD drive in to my 'old' pc (which was good but definitely slower as it has an HDD drive).
