An interesting race. Timeform's view...
A potential match between NIGHT RAIDER and Cogitate. The latter didn't do himself justice when sent off favourite for the Acomb at York but Night Raider looked something out of the ordinary when making a winning start over C&D in December so shades the vote.

yes stewy cogitate has the stronger form in the book but that thing was impressive and bolted up ,the horse who finished 2nd to cogitate when both made their debuts at newbury was btn a nose in a group 3 at newmarket by the winner who is prominent in the guineas betting ,market says night raider but im with the hills horse good luck.
RP's Newmarket correspondent has allegedly tipped Laser Focus, who must have a good chance as a regressive 100-rated hurdler making his debut on the flat aged 6 having been sold for £5,500 in the autumn and then claimed for £6k after a mid-div finish in a Ludlow claiming hurdle. Qué?
Hard to see why a horse of such potential as Night Raider would follow up with a Class 5 Novice race at Southwell.
Taking out the first two it's a tough nut to crack a first three place imo.
